Home Office Disappears Another Family

The Trumci family were woken up At Oakington Detention Centre this morning at 4AM. They were then taken to Stansted Airport in London and deported back to Kosovo against their will. Removed from their home in West London and brought to Oakington in Cambridgeshire early on Sunday, they had been warned that sometime this week they might be deported. It has been a long week.

Oakington detention :: noborder protests

A group of concerned Cambridge residents recently demonstrated in front of the detention centre in nearby Oakington, where asylum-seekers are detained while their claims are being processed and (usually) rejected. Inmates in the detention centre have recently been engaging in hunger strikes and civil disobedience to protest conditions inside the camp and the extraordinarily long length of their imprisonment. The facility's regulations state that people should be kept inside for 7-10 days, but some inmates have been detained there for over two months.

Turkish Kurd family loses UK asylum battle

Canoe Club trains Asylum Welcome Boys

A coach instructs the boys
Falcon Rowing and Canoeing club took the initiative and obtained funding to give canoeing lessons to boys from Aslyum Welcome. The boys, between 14 and 16 years old, are refugees and asylum seekers. Some are unaccommpanied without their parents. Their response to this initiative was fantastic to watch. More are needed.

On 27 July, more than 100 activists from the noborder camp in Frassanito/Puglia, have peacefully invaded the "First Hospitality Centre" in Bari Palese. [pics]. Some migrants managed to escape. 22 MIGRANTS escape from detention centre in Turin

Late on Monday night / Tuesday morning, 22 migrants escaped from a
detention centre in Turin. In the afternoon of Monday a demonstration had
been organized in front of the centre by the Turin Social Forum and during
the night the migrants rioted, burning matresses etc., and managed to
escape.

  OCCUPIED JERUSALEM - The United Nations agency in charge of helping Palestinian refugees said that if its appeal for millions of dollars in aid was not answered immediately, then the agency, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, UNRWA, will have to cut humanitarian assistance to hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
