Letters from Kurdish deportees

These letters from a number of Iraqi-Kurdish asylum seeker who were forcibly deported on 5 September, 2006 (see  http://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2006/09/350214.html) were received by Dashty Jamal from the International Federation of Iraqi Refugees ( http://www.federasion.org). They were passed to the European Council Presidency on 11.10.2006 in European Parliament.

Teresa Lau Manuel Must Stay in Leicester

Teresa Lau Manuel
Teresa came to Leicester on 25 March 2004. She spoke Kikongo and Portuguese, and so went to Leicester College to learn English. She followed this with a Child Care course at Leicester College that she completed in July 2006. Her certificate says "to have achieved it required determination and skill, qualities which help you shape a valuable career". Teresa now faces removal from the UK on Friday 20th October 2006.

Congolese asylum seeker, removed to Kinshasa, imprisoned and beaten

On 6 October, 2006, Mulai Mukendi, an asylum seeker from the Democratic Republic of Congo, was removed from the UK and taken to the country's capital Kinshasa, upon which she was subjected to imprisonment and beatings for several days.

Urgent - Kidnapping at Dallas, USA, Court! Information need!

At 3pm on Tuesday 10th September, a mother and her child where taken from Dallas Court Immigration Reporting Centre. Their details are unknown at the moment, as is their current location.

Close down Dallas Court!, Fri 13 Oct 2006

The next protest in the series of monthly protests at Dallas Court Reporting Centre, Salford Quays, will be held on Friday 13 October at 12-2pm. People, including women, chidren and victims of rape and torture, are kidnapped daily at Dallas Court and taken to detention centres. Many who escape kidnap also report being racially abused and insulted regularly by racist staff at Dallas Court. NWASDG and Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! (FRFI) urges everyone to attend and to support and publicise these protests against the oppression of asylum seekers by this racist Labour government.
