Glasgow the Brave: People in Glasgow found the idea that refugees should be arrested and returned to a brutal regime, which they had bravely opposed, completely unacceptable and took to the streets to protest. Many of these protests helped to form Anti-Deportation campaigns, which were the inspiration for the wider defence of refugees, which has been mounted across Glasgow over the years often to considerable success.

Charly Julienne Mbongue Ndongo and her 4 month old baby, Kiefer Nkana Moudiki (born in England) from Leeds are currently detained in Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre. They have survived previous removal attempts to Cameroon. They face another removal attempt tomorrow , Thursday 14th February 2008 on Brussels Airlines flight SN2050 at 06:30 from Birmingham Airport to Brussels and onwards on flight SN351 to Douala, Cameroon.

Deportatons to DRC have resumed!

A week ago the appeal submitted
by the legal team responsible for the BK case on the
DRC was refused at the first stage. They are now preparing papers to take the appeal directly to the Court of Appeal. In the meantime, the Home Office have seized the opportunity to make up for lost time by detaining people going to sign and by
issuing them and people already in detention with removal directions.

Mum & baby were woken up at 6.00am on Friday 8th February by a immigration 'snatch' squad banging on their door They were quickly removed from their home and taken to Yarl's Wood IRC, where they are now and due to be forcibly removed on Thursday 14th February 2008 on Brussels Airlines flight SN2050 at 06:30 from Birmingham Airport to Brussels and onward to Douala Cameroon.

ROME - At least 22 migrants have died at the gates of Eu during the month of January 2008 in Spain, Western Sahara, Algeria, Greece, Italy and Turkey. A sharp decline compared to the 243 victims surveyed in December. But it is just an apparent truce. Migrants detention camps in France are in revolt, and the same happens in Greece, Cyprus and Italy.
