Attached is a recording of the launch of the Campaign Against Deportion of Odette Sefuko (CADOS) recorded in Sheffield on 14th July 2010, between the introduction and the discussion there was a screening of The Greatest Silence,  http://thegreatestsilence.org/ .

Odette Sefuko fled the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) via Uganda in fear of her life five years ago and came to England to claim asylum. The Home Office have rejected her claim, (now being reviewed by the European Court). The Home Office refuse to accept Odette is Congolese, despite reputable evidence (see below). They want to send her back to Uganda, a place where she might face imprisonment, torture or maybe death.

Italy pays, Libya deports and tortures

Another “success” in the “war on illegal migrants”: Against all international Conventions the Italian government keeps refusing refugees from Eritrea and deporting them back to Libya, whose detention centres are notoriously famous for the constant violations of human rights.

Metro's cage rattled by spoof

The Metro has obtained a High Court injunction against "all persons responsible for the publication and/or distribution" of a Metro spoof paper that was distributed by campaigners at London tube stations on Friday morning. But since the spoof was produced and distributed anonymously, the injunction seems to have been served upon the wrong people, in what appears to be a guilty-by-association verdict.

Metro targeted by anti-racist spoof

London commuters were this morning surprised to find that their usual Metro paper was a bit thinner, yet more interesting and engaging, than usual.

Tens of thousands of copies of a spoof newspaper that looked very similar to the free daily were distributed at 20 busy tube stations around the capital during rush hour. Thousands more were distributed in other cities around the country.

Switzerland: Video on Undocumented Occupation

On 26 June, about 300 migrants and solidarity activists occupied a park right besides the seat of the Swiss government in Bern. They've been protesting against Switzerland's inhuman asylum and migration policy and demand the collective regularisation of the country's undocumented migrants.

Great News! Saman's deportation cancelled Monday morning. NCADC received a call from Saman's partner saying that he had been pulled from the flight. She would like to thank all those who have supported the campaign. However, they are still deeply concerned as they do not have legal representation. If anyone could support Saman in this way please email  ncadc@ncadc.org.uk. Saman Akbarirad is being held at Harmondsworth. Saman fled Iran after being imprisoned and tortured for political activities.
