Come and meet a delegation from the radical Polish Union Workers Initiative!20 years ago today - the protest that brought down Thatcher and her Poll Tax!
20 years ago today, on March 31st 1990, I was part of this huge crowd of hundreds of thousands people protesting against Maggie Thatchers Poll Tax. This became known as the ‘Battle of Trafalgar Square’, after police attacks on the protest provoked the largest act of civil unrest in London for a century. This great protest was the culmination of a country wide uprising, where in every town and city in the land, angry crowds of thousands of people marched on their Town Halls. Everywhere, people ripped up and burned their poll tax forms, and millions refused to pay this unjust and anti-working class tax, defying the law in one of the largest acts of mass civil disobedience in that century. All this lead to a crisis in the government, and Thatchers hated regime fell within months, taking her hated poll tax with it.EDLs plans/times for Saturday on Dudley

The MP for Redditch, Jacqui Smith was at the centre of the expenses scandal. In the run up to the general election, a new campaign is reminding her constituents of her thieving ways and also seeks to put the whole UK wide expenses scandal back on the agenda. It encourages the electorate to seriously consider boycotting the 3 big parties so as to send a clear message to them and parliament.http://www.facebook.com/pages/Can-this-bath-plug-get-more-fans-than-Jacqui-Smith-MP/110526948958553

As British authorities are accused of turning a blind eye to fascist racial incitement and street violence, there is damning evidence BNP organisers are, as suspected, using the EDL to do the BNP's dirty work by plotting race riots in multicultural areas.Bloody Sunday Vigil in Birmingham Today
