First eviction protest for B.E.R.N
On Wednesday 20th June the Birmingham Eviction Resistance Network held its first protest against evictions in BirminghamWrexham Divided: WPJF on Israel-Wales match tonight
At tonight's Israel-Wales women's Euro qualifier football match, members of Wrexham Peace & Justice Forum will invite matchgoers to put themselves in Palestinian shoes and consider how their lives might be affected by a wall running through their town, cutting them off from family and friends, education, health care, water, their land and livelihoods.Stop Home Evictions in Birmingham

This, the 1st press release from the Loose Anti Opencast Network list 12 sites in England where there has been expressions of interest about opencast for coal on the site. The press release also indicates why this will be a continuing 'itch' in the English planning system as up to 97% of the surface mineable coal in England is located within 500m of where people live. The Keep Gloucestershire's NHS Public campaign hit the headlines earlier this year when a legal challange by 76 year old Michael Lloyd, supported by Gloucestershire anti-cuts groups, forced local NHS bosses to stop plans to take community health services out of the NHS and hand them over to a 'community interest company'.The battle to keep these services out of the hands of private sector health multinationals is not over, however, and co-ordinated county-wide protest rallies are taking place in Gloucestershire on Saturday June 16th.
Census Refuser challenges Census Act by way of Judicial Review
A Birmingham Census refuser, Nigel Simons, has been granted a judicial review that will consider the legality of the Census Act. Simons is arguing that the Act, which makes it a criminal offence to fail to complete the Census, is incompatible with Human Rights legislation. If his challenge is successful, other ongoing prosecutions of census refusers are likely to collapse, previous convictions may be overturned and it may become impossible for the government to contract with arms companies (and other businesses to which people may have legitimate conscientious objection) to provide any public services.Oppose the EDL in Redditch this Saturday

Shrewsbury: Case against Census refuser dismissed
The Crown's case against Judith Sambrook for refusing to complete the 2011 Census was formally dismissed at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court this morning. The CPS offered no evidence against Judith and she was therefore found not guilty. This is the first not guilty verdict we're aware of in relation to 2011 Census refusers. Two cases have been very recently dropped (discontinued) by the CPS, but others are continuing and only this week Deborah Glass Woodin of Oxford was found guilty of the same offence at Reading Magistrates Court.Redditch Green Fair, Sat 2nd June

Census Refuser Latest - three court appearances this week
Judith Sambrook is back in court Thursday 17 May: Shrewsbury Magistrates, 10am. Solidarity vigil outside the court from 9.30am.Deborah Glass Woodin appeared in Reading Magistrates court at the beginning of the week, was found guilty and fined. Barbara Dowling appeared at Glasgow Sheriff's court and her trial has now been adjourned until 25 September.
