Where did the Independent [sic] Election Commission of Iraq get the turnout figure of 8 million voters? The answer is that's exactly the same number the commission predicted more than two weeks before the elections. Toronto Coalition to Stop the War Condemns the Unfair and Illegitimate Election
30-01-2005 23:38
From TCSWSunday, 30 January 2005
TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA -- The Toronto Coalition to Stop the War strongly supports the right of people in Iraq to democratically determine their own future. That must include choosing a legitimate and representative government through free and fair elections. However, the exercise taking place under foreign occupation on January 30 will be neither free nor fair.

28-01-2005 23:51

4 Homes Blunkett
28-01-2005 13:42
After my piece 'Shed No Tears For Blunkett' was published on Sheffield Indymedia, one of Blunkett's cronies, who happens to be the councillor for Blunkett's Sheffield Brightside constituency, came (alone) to his defence. This went along the lines of 'You're all middle-class, not like me and my good working-class pal David', and part of this ludicrous argument was the supposed low-cost of the houses they both own in Sheffield. What Blunkett's pal forgets to mention is that Blunkett doesn't just have 1 home, but 4! And either Peter Price has been playing down the value of Blunkett's Sheffield house - or Blunkett has been on the fiddle again!

Human rights violations in Guantanamo
25-01-2005 07:10
Not only must the recent FBI-revelations about the torture of prisoners in Guantanamo be seen in the light of the known facts about their treatment, there is also a close connection with the official denying of their elementary human rights, due the refusal of the American government to give them a judicial status according to International Law.Future of Food
