Gay Pride, Labour Shame

01-07-2004 12:07

OutRage! exposes Labour's 20 failings on queer human rights. These are 20 concrete, specific instances when Labour had an opportunity to overturn homophobia, but chose to maintain discrimination. Labour talks a lot about equality, but often fails to deliver. When it comes to the crunch, the government seems more interested in appeasing the homophobes of Middle England than in enacting rights for queers.

Capital is Masculine: Book Review

30-06-2004 16:51

"The debt crisis of the South is one element of the current process of destruction. Inthethird world as a result of dependence on the North, relatively more is always spent on interest payments to the banks in the North than on satisfying elementary human needs. To pass off the policy of the North toward the South as exporting "civilization" is perverse.. The North exports.. the Moloch of the auto-city and nuclear power.."

Urgent call re Women's Day at the European Social Forum

17-06-2004 19:42

At a women’s briefing meeting this week, we heard from UK organisers that giving women independent space was not seen as a priority. Yet the Women’s Day at the Paris ESF last November was decisive in making women’s campaigns visible, including grassroots organising against immigration and asylum laws, and against war and occupation. OutRage! welcomes London Lesbian and Gay Museum

08-06-2004 07:42

OutRage! is delighted to hear that there is so much support for the museum. The lives and stories of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people have been largely ignored and even written out of the ‘official’ history books. Much of history has been ‘sanitised’ of our queer lives and this project will be an invaluable resource in reclaiming much of it.
