Save the Danube Delta!

Ukraine will continue building a navigational canal in the Danube River Delta. A senior Ukrainian Foreign Ministry official has confirmed the construction of the canal, despite a European Union call to halt work amid fears the waterway could harm the environment.

On sunday, August 1, we're having another Sunday free cafe. Come down and hang out (rest after the rts?), drink some tea and eat some food. Everything is free of charge. All day event. From Edinburgh, take bus 37 or 37A towards Penicuik and get off at the first bus stop in Bilston. Go through the gate next to the bus stop and follow the path that leads to the camp. Swindon Borough Council "... reaffirms, and will continue, its existing policy of support for the Great Western Community Forest plan, and specifically council owned land at Shaw Forest Park (which includes Phases 1, 2 & 3), and resolves that these sites should be protected and retained as Community Forest for future generations." But will they show the same support for Coate?

Kings Lynn The Walks - Heritage Lottery Project

Critique of proposed bid for Heritage Lottery Funding to restore the Walks. The proposals envisage the removal of a total of 244 mature trees now with others to follow in 15 years. There is little sign, despite assurances from Heritage Lottery Fund that the proposals will take account of environmental/ecological/bio-diversity issues. The message once again is clear. Trees are the price of heritage lottery cash.
