Badgers spared - Thank you ALF!

ALF target farming union offices over badger cull, June 13th
The BBC today reports that DEFRA Secretary of State, Hilary Benn, will announce on Monday that he has decided against a cull of badgers in England to control TB in cattle. If the report is correct, the A.L.F. and its supporters will be relieved that the Secretary of State has finally made a right decision, one that is based on sound science.

James Hansen's Appeal to the G8 on Climate Change

Later today James Hansen will address the the United Nations University, slides attached, and he has also written a letter to Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda of Japan, also attached, which contains the following dire warning, which, of course won't be heeded -- "business as usual at any cost" appears to be the motto the worlds "leaders" and this is what they intend to follow even if it leads to planetary death.

Garden chair case dropped (like a hot potato) by CPS

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has decided not to pursue a charge of theft against me for removing four green plastic garden chairs from the landfill skip in Wrexham back at the beginning of May. They say they have made this decision on the - frankly improbable - grounds that 'there is insufficient evidence to provide a realistic prospect of conviction.' Rubbish!

Picket action in Vancouver for John Graham, indigenous prisoner of war

On June 26, 2008, the one year anniversary of indigenous warrior John Graham's imprisonment in Vancouver and the 33 year anniversary of the Incident at Oglala, about 20 people, Native and non-Native, picketed and gave out leaflets in solidarity outside of the Ocean Plaza office tower in downtown Vancouver where, at least until recently, the Cash Minerals uranium mining company had its operations office.
