Garden Festival Fayre This Sunday!

Langtree McLean, the developers who want to build on the old garden festival site, have cut down more than 1000 trees already. But they don't have planning permission yet! If they get their way, the site will be almost completely clear-felled. They are destroying semi-mature trees, including oaks, from the original plantings for the Garden Festival in the early 1980s.

Radio active waste in east London Olympic site

French state 24 hr news channel, France 24, today reported that it had seen documentation showing that radioactive waste had been dumped in 1959 in Clays lane, the site of the proposed 2012 Olympic Stadium.

Solar Panels from Clorophyll ONE TENTH Cost of Silicone

Researchers at a New Zealand University have
found a way to make solar panels from synthetic
clorophyll which is one tenth the cost of silicone
photo voltaic panels. It is in it's early stages of
development and not on the market, but it is
a huge discovery that is just what is needed to
help reduce the world's pollution.

Lech Mergler (The Greens 2004) hosted the meeting. The debate was preceded by a documentary about the protest action on St. Anna’s Mount with commentary by Jacek Polewski.
