Coca-Cola Destroys Indian Villages, Despite Warning by Coca-Cola Study

As the summer of 2009 approaches, the village of Kala Dera in north India is bracing itself for yet another season of acute water shortages – thanks largely to Coca-Cola. Coca-Cola should never have located its bottling plant in a drought prone area which had already been declared as overexploited by the government. It was malfeasance on the part of Coca-Cola to locate its plant in such a water-deficit area, and it was a grave mistake on the part of the Indian government to allow the plant to be located in Kala Dera.

Monkeys fight back against trainer, China

Three angry monkeys turned on their cruel trainer and beat him with his own stick (See Photos). One of the trio bit him and pulled out handfuls of his hair. When one of the monkeys refused to ride on a child's bicycle in a street performance in Sizhou, in eastern China, their owner beat it with a stick.

Leila Deen, Custard Queen, Arrested

London activist Leila Deen was arrested Saturday for throwing green custard over government minister Peter Mandelson on Friday to protest at his undemocratic involvement in the decision to Heathrow airport. She received a text message and phone call from the police to inform her she was to be arrested for common assault. After being interviewed she was released without charge, and bailed to return on the 9th of April.

The French eco-activist, Yildune Levy, who was on remand accused of sabotaging railway lines to protest against the nuclear power industry, has been released from prison pending her trial. However as far as we are aware, her co-defendant Julien Coupat remains in prison.

Arrested Utah Activists not being given vegan food!

Two Local Utah Animal Rights Activists; William "BJ" Viehl and Alex Jason Hall,
were arrested yesterday (Thursday March 5th) for a raid of a South Jordan, UT
mink farm in August, and the attempted raid of a second mink farm in October.
Both are being held in Salt Lake County Metro Jail on charges of Animal

Two animal rights activists have been arrested under the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act in connection to the release of mink from Utah fur farms. The crimes are attributed to the Animal Liberation Front, which the FBI labels the “number one domestic terrorism threat.”

Green custard was this morning thrown in the face of the Labour governments Business Secretary, Peter Mandelson by Plane Stupid activist Leila Deen. The former Northern Ireland Secretary was accosted moments after stepping out of his limo to attend a so-called 'low-carbon' summit in London. In full view of the assembled TV cameras he got a face full of custard and hurried inside. Leila then explained to the cameras that the action had been over Mandelsons unelected and undemocratic role in granting permission for Heathrows third runway on behalf of the business community.

March 6, 2009 - Bayer managers have known the risks of a pesticide class called neonicotinoids for the environment since the beginning of the 90ies. The company downplayed the risks, submitted deficient studies to authorities and accepted the loss of honey bees in many parts of the world. After huge bee deaths in Germany last year the Coalition against Bayer Dangers brought a charge against Bayer for knowingly endangering the environment.

Todays BBC news reports include a feature on what the beeb call the "mysterious disappearance of billions of Bees" . But if they had done their homework they would find that it's not so mysterious. The go off on a tangent about "Colony Collapse Disorder" something Americans seemed to have dreamed up, but they then inform us that this term is misleading
and they are just leading us up the path.
