Burma, Opium & the CIA
29-09-2007 22:12
Burma is one corner of 'the Golden Triangle' of opium production. Until the recent US 'liberation' of Afghanistan made it the worlds largest producer, this was where most of the worlds heroin came from. Neither Burma, Vietnam, Laos or Thailand had any history of opium production until colonial times, when they were used in the British Opium Wars to produce enough opium to corrupt and subjectate China.Cambrian Snooze Out Now!

WMR has learned from U.S. and foreign intelligence sources that the B-52 transporting six stealth AGM-129 Advanced Cruise Missiles, each armed with a W-80-1 nuclear warhead, on August 30, were destined for the Middle East via Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.Joe’s Borrowed Idea: Split Iraq Up into Three Pieces
27-09-2007 08:31
It is, to say the least, a predictable outcome, one that dovetails nicely with the neocon master plan. “US lawmakers voted Wednesday to split Iraq into a loose federation of sectarian-based regions and urged President George W Bush to press Iraqi leaders to agree,” reports Monsters and Critics.Iran’s Impending Destruction: Is Ahmadinejad Clueless?
27-09-2007 00:28
Either way—if Ahmadinejad is sincerely clueless or an agent working for British-U.S.-Israeli intelligence—it is truly astounding the president of Iran glossed over what should be considered, with a heaping dose of trepidation, the brutal and criminal shock and awe reduction of his country to a “failed” Neolithic condition.Report from Anti London Olympics/regeneration march and meeting plus comment

Who allies with whom against Iran?
23-09-2007 14:12
PKK, which increasingly consists (made to consist) of Kurds from Iran (and Syria), has been transformed into a subsidiary "organisation for attacking on Iran". This was done by the "host Iraqi Kurdish leaders", on "the master of the masters' " USA (and Israel) account. Now they will also get the French [Prime Minister] Sarkozy, who "doesn't want Turkey in the EU", but clings to the USA and Israel and "wants an attack on Iran", to adopt a "carrots and sticks policy" towards Turkey. In other words, Sarkozy will use the EU as bait for our territory, airspace and bases.

Institutions see no value in purchasing Northern Rock. The alternative exists: the Depositors are acknowledged as the de-facto owners of Northern Rock and the whole enteprise is mutualised. Northern Rock has a buyer: its depositors.Venezuela today: complexities and outright lies

22-09-2007 13:42
An independent videographer was arrested on the Noborders march today at 12:45. From preliminary reports, it appears that the arrest occurred when he filmed cops who were policing the march (not a crime) and then refused to give his details when asked to do so. It is unclear to us why anyone should be required to provide his name and address when filming the police. The arrest occurred under Section 50 of the Police Reform Act, a recent piece of legislation allowing police to arrest someone who doesn't give details when suspected of anti-social behaviour, so perhaps filming cops is an anti-social activity. The Respect coalition is in crisis!

As nightfall does not come all at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there is a twilight when everything remains seemingly unchanged. And it is in such a twilight that we all must be aware of change in the air-however slight-lest we become unwilling victims of the darkness.~Justice William O. Douglas~

THERE is something surreal about Gordon Brown mounting his high horse and telling European and African government leaders that they must choose between his attendance and that of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe at a summit in Lisbon on December 8-9.
