Bath ‘We won’t pay for their crisis!’ – Demo report and reflections

Saturday 22nd of Nov was a busy day for Bath activists. An info stall raised £100 for local animal rights groups and the Bath vegan fayre gave out free vegan food and dietary, ethical and environmental advice to over 300 punters. On top of all that, Bath Activist Network and friends took to the streets to protest the financial crisis/bank bailouts and kick start a campaign aimed at practically resisting the effects of recession in our communities.

"Baby P" killers' details leaked all over the internet

Although a court order prevents the identification of the people convicted of killing the child known as "Baby P", their details have appeared all over the internet. A few Google searches will show hundreds of websites with this information.

Net closing in on fugitive family

The net appears to be closing in yet again on Natalie Bracht and her five daughters who have been on the run since May in attempt to avoid having their family torn apart by social workers.

British National Party (BNP) membership list leak, personal privacy...

First a little background for those not in the UK. The British National Party (BNP) is a fringe political party in the UK with a view to the extreme far right. According to their own constitution the BNP is "committed to stemming and reversing the tide of non-white immigration and to restoring, by legal changes, negotiation and consent the overwhelmingly white makeup of the British population that existed in Britain prior to 1948." - they are generally regarded as a racist bunch of thugs - mainly due to documentaries which have exposed many of their members as thugs who are racist.

Seen the latest on child social services

Recently the death of another baby in the U.K. has stirred up the talks on youth care business. The truth is surfacing in the media trickle by trickle. In the Netherlands children were condemned to death the same way by the Dutch social services (privatized companies) who deliberately let parents, who clearly endanger the live of their child, proceed to kill the child. The social services are aware of the case but do nothing. Why? Because of money. The response of the Dutch government was: each time a child died under horrific circumstances the government immediately donated millions to expand the reach of the social services. In reality often they take children for no reason at all other than moneys.

Media coverage of Bath fainancial crisis campaign and upcoming demo (22/11/08)

the local press have picked up on the campaign , launched by Bath Activist Network against bank bailouts/recession.
the first action of this campaign will be a protest in Bath city centre on saturday the 22nd of Nov. Assemble at 12.30pm infront of Bath Abbey, Bath.
the campaign is picking up momentum, and we are hoping for the largest turnout possible - so get yerself down to the demo!
