Is the New York Times misleading its readers again - This time on Iran?

13-05-2010 17:52

Recently, we critiqued a Washington Post article that relied almost entirely on unnamed U.S. officials and a known terrorist organization to make the Iraq-redux argument that Iranian “defectors” are providing the U.S. government with critical information about Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons. Yesterday, The New York Times ran an article—by Nazila Fathi, ostensibly reporting on the execution of five prisoners in Iran on Sunday—that epitomizes the same kind of agenda-driven, threat-hyping approach as the Post’s piece on Iran’s nuclear program.

Top media lies about Iran

13-05-2010 14:38

The Times, 14 December 2009
The Peace Prize President in the White House continues to increase his empty, but angry rhetoric in an attempt to garner enough support for a strike on Iran. The propaganda juggernaut is in full action, and thousands of articles, TV shows, and politicians are beating the drums for a war against Iran. If this sounds eerily familiar, it's because it is.

Bilderberg financial terrorists appointed to Cameron's new government

13-05-2010 11:14

Kenneth Clarke
Kenneth Clarke famously introduced the new concept of the Public Interest Immunity Certificate (PIIC) during the Matrix Churchill Iraqi 'Supergun' trial. An illegal arms dealer trial which collapsed in 1992 because Clarke did his best to block government evidence of his complicity in the illegal arms trade under the guise of 'national security and 'public interest'. See Gerald James' definitive 1995 book on the topic "In the Public Interest: A Devastating Account of the Thatcher Government's Involvement in the Covert Arms Trade''

Voting in Britain for war. Take your pick

07-05-2010 14:29

Edwardian notions of war are again being promoted in western democracies, along with the militarising of history, journalism and parliamentary politics. In Britain, the three main candidiates for prime minister are declared warmakers; and yet popular feeling is very different.

The "Evil Guys List"? "Free Journalism" in the Service of US Foreign Policy

06-05-2010 15:55

ad for the photography book marking Reporters Without Borders' 25th anniversary
An organization calling itself Reporters Without Borders has just named Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, China’s President Hu Jintao, Iran’s Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Kazakhstan’s Nursultan Nazarbayev and Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to their list of Forty Worst Predators of Press Freedom for 2010.

Most significant about their list of ‘bad guys’ is the geopolitical relation of those leaders and those countries to the current ‘enemies list’ of the US State Department. That is no accident, as becomes clear when we look more closely at who funds RWB.

. . . . westminster, cheap housing association flats, all with their own numbers - all guys, but a couple of days ago two postal ballots for a chinese couple ( both sexes ) turn up on the main doormat - without a flat number. Dropped a sheet of paper with the details off at the local police station, to get told that they'd check it off against the local electoral lists. This doesnt seem much of a response . . . .

US, UK, France,Italy walk out of UN nuclear conference in war propaganda theater

06-05-2010 07:55

President Ahmadinejad speaking at the Non-Proliferation Treaty Review Conference
The “emperor has no clothes” fact is that the new face of unlawful global imperialism is the old face of 20th Century imperialists. As critical mass of public recognition builds, this time, the public will reject their loveless and mass-murderous empire-building.

The two paper-thin lies the 21st Century fascists use to promote unlawful war is that Iran threatens to destroy Israel and Iran has a nuclear weapons program. Both are quickly proven as lies.

28-04-2010 23:16

By the end of the second debate on April 22, the word ‘Iraq’ had been mentioned a total of five times over the course of the three hours of discussion.

Media Disinformation: Syria Threatens Israel’s Security. One Big Smokescreen

27-04-2010 18:23

In the self-sensationalising world of modern media, some truths are better witnessed than told. Over the past fortnight, major media outlets have converged on Syria’s alleged delivery of scud missiles to the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah. By examining how the story first came to limelight, as well as the manner in which media sources have uncritically covered the story, one can begin to notice the vastly degenerated state of today’s media and its deeply polarising effects.

Sociopath nation: The New York Times on Iran

24-04-2010 09:31

We are ruled by sociopaths and here is all the proof you need tightly encapsulated in one New York Times editorial "264 Days and Counting".

This one editorial lays bare for the world to see the criminally insane collective mindset of American political, media, and corporate elites.
