the story -

Willie Oviedo the Sports commentator of TVes confidently told Olympic fans that Hitler had refused to present the gold medals Michael Phelps won, in the 1972 Olympics in Munich.

'Wipe off the map': The Tip of an Iceberg

18-08-2008 17:03

source: David Horowitz Freedom Center
Still at the centre of the threat scenario is the alleged statement of Iran’s president of 26/10/2005 saying Iran wanted to wipe Israel off the map, wanted to raze Israel to the ground (with the atom bomb). We have often proven that this alleged statement originates from a falsification and that Iran’s president has actually given expression to his expectation that the regime occupying Jerusalem - the Zionist regime as he often calls it - will disappear. To insinuate that the Iranian president wanted to destroy Israel – and thus the Jews – is – and that cannot be emphasised enough – as though you wanted to assert that the demand for the end of the Apartheid regime was the same as demanding the destruction of South Africa.

AMW slams Israeli inaction over Reuters death, & British media silence

15-08-2008 13:34

Fadel Shana
Arab Media Watch condemns the Israeli military's decision to take no action against a tank crew that killed Reuters cameraman Fadel Shana and wounded soundman Wafa Abu Mizyed in Gaza in April 2008. AMW joins the International Federation of Journalists, the Committee to Protect Journalists and other media watchdogs in calling for a full, independent inquiry.

AMW expresses concern that the investigation's decision has been almost completely ignored by the mainstream British press, the sole exception being Guardian correspondent Rory McCarthy. This is surprising given its life-threatening implications for all journalists reporting from the occupied Palestinian territories.

As fans of aunty Beeb will have noticed we have just moved one step closer to a proper geopolitical crises this afternoon with agreement being reached by Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radosław Sikorski, and US Under-Secretary of State John Rood to station 10 missile interceptors in the eastern European state.

REMEMBER EACH ELEVENTH . . . . progress, despite desperate "minderbinder" ploys!

14-08-2008 10:25

The "remember each eleventh" campaign is based around the idea that the eleventh of the eleventh "poppy day" isnt enough, these days, as we seem not to "remember" so much that our repetitions of past tragedies is almost past farcical . . . . hence, 12 times a year, a week of action around the eleventh around the widest possible formal/informal coalition, on the lines of the passionate reasoning that put the circular "wreath" on a lasting memorial in whitehall ( a "traffic hazard", "sticking up like a sore thumb" as the blocking efforts of the bureacrats of the time had it ) - to represent those of all spiritual traditions, politics, etc - but also those without.
THIS IS A QUICK UPDATE - 14 aug 08
