The Israeli military kept up on Wednesday closure of the Gaza border crossings for more than two weeks now as the Israeli military carried out a series of attacks on the West Bank. These news and more are coming up stay tuned.

Israeli defense minister, Ehud Barak, decided during a meeting with his senior security officials, to keep up closure of Gaza's crossings for the sixteenth day consecutively.

The Israeli decision comes despite repeated warnings by international humanitarian bodies that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is on the brink of collapse.

In the West Bank, the Israeli military invaded the Taqou' village , imposing a strict curfew and detaining several residents in the area. Also, the Israeli military attacked the Nablus city, detaining four Palestinian residents.

At the internal level, the ruling Hamas party in Gaza denied today it intends to allow extension of Palestinian president's term in office after January2009. Hamas says only the Palestinian law and constitution can allow this.

It also reiterated willingness to engage in a national unity dialogue with Abbas's Fatah party, only after the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank releases all Hamas detainees inside the PA's jails.

In another news, hundreds of Palestinians and other pro-Palestinians in London staged today a protest against the visit by Israel's president Shimon Peres to London.

Organizers said Peres is unwelcome as he represents a state that violates international laws and norms grossly.
