I received this email from the Rossport solidarity camp mailing list. It appears that Shell have no problems using force, even though there is NO public support for their development of this dangerous and destructive gas extraction project. this will not end tomorrow, but it will certainty escalate the actions the protesters can legitimately take.

G8 2007 - Proposed 'Red Zone'...

Cops in Germany have held their first 'scare-the-shit-out-of-the-local-populations' meeting, in advance of next years G8 Summit in Northern Germany. Along with apparently saying they are considering banning 'larger' demonstrations around the area of Rosstock/Heiligendamm (haha, try it!) they have produced this map, showing their proposed 'red zone'. They reckon the fence will be roughly 12ft high.

The name of the consultant company is WitteveenBos.  http://www.witteveenbos.co.id/ -- It is the only consultant in Indonesian for this kind of project. The plan is threatening the lives of many poor people, and will wreck an ecologically sensitive area.
