Phase of collapse of US real economy

20-02-2008 18:17

It is neither a “remake” of the 1929 crisis nor a repetition of the 1970s oil crises or 1987 stock market crisis. It is truly a global systemic crisis, that is to say a crisis affecting the entire planet and questioning the very foundations of the international system upon which the world was organised in the last decades.

Self-Serving

14-02-2008 14:15

Each country has got its own Berlusconis, Blairs, Bushes or Popes. It is a kind of globalization thing and Blair may seem to have exaggerated recently in France whilst speaking about the current political situation. Every politician, MEP, peer and local councillor who votes and supports Crossrail should be held personally financially liable to pay for anything in excess of what the Government claims it will cost. The House of Lords is now the next stage for this farcical Bill which is about to face a bit of a problem.
