The Candidate of Oz

21-04-2007 17:16

The closer Australia gets to the Federal election, the fewer the political differences between the two major candidates! During his quick visit to the U.S., Rudd also addressed the Brookings Institution in Washington and confirmed that any negligible differences between his policies and Howard’s would be completely eradicated by the time of the election and that he was ready, willing and able to assume the ’position’ of lackey, sycophant and new governor of America’s newest colonial acquisition, Australia! [O Ned, you’re better off dead!]

A War to Spread Terror

15-04-2007 14:25

An indisputable fact of globalization and modernization is that sophisticated technologies transferred to the third world countries are controlled by transnational companies and/or governments. This has led to the concept of ‘self-colonization’ or acceptance of Western values and superiority; which deems that third world countries look to the West for research and development instead of self-reliance (Hveem, 1983). Iran escaped this trap due to the disdain felt towards it as a result of the 1979 revolution and the isolation forced upon it during the Iran-Iraq war. Iran learned self-reliance and escaped self-colonization.

Supermarkets and their lorries are real threat to the environment

14-04-2007 10:09

Supermarkets are the biggest threat to the environment. They stop people having real choice over foods, they sometimes deliver only a few items in their trucks, the safety record of these trucks is awful, they are the largest seller of processed junk foods, they are responsible for half of landfill and they are the largest provider of disposable goods including plastic bags which take 4,000 years to degrade. Tesco is one such operator that is trying to kill off connections to locality and food.
