NO-WTO! REPORT OF READING SOLIDARITY DEMO:

In Reading last night, around 20-30 anti-capitalists, environmentalists, students and others marched from the Reading International Solidarity Centre, to make a free cafe and anti-World Trade Organisation demonstration outside Starbucks in the town centre. Protesters moved quickly into the Oracle Riverside - busy private land on both sides of the canal which is lined with posh restaurants, bars and the cinema between the huge Oracle shopping center and it's multi-story carpark.

Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign would like to announce a protest against the Jewish National Fund and Colin Powell to be held outside the JNF charity dinner at the Glasgow Hilton on 16th January 2006 from 5pm onwards. After the demonstration outside the Hilton there will be a public meeting where two Palestinians will speak by telephone to people attending and will discuss how the JNF have affected, and often destroyed, their lives and property.

Pizza Hut Workers on Strike
Striking Pizza Hut workers served up pieces of a giant pizza for a fair slice of the multinational brands profits and to raise awareness of the disproportionate number of migrant workers living on minimum wage in New Zealand.

SuperSizeMyPay.Com campaign co-ordinator, Simon Oosterman said that the strike was a part of international protests against the meeting of the World Trade Organisation in Hong Kong and the global fight for economic justice.
