I must admit to being somewhat bemused by the ongoing deluge of 9/11 films and reports, not because I don’t believe the incredible facts about the demolition of the WTC buildings, but because the vast mass of information about who planted these bombs seems to massively outweigh any constructive suggestions about what to do about these startling revelations. At least this is not the case with a new film about the London bombings which I found on Google Videos last night:

Called ‘Ludicrous Diversions’ and narrated by a well-to-do English voice trying to evoke the court-room drama sense of realism, it remains unsigned or websited even though it boasts an audience of 80,000 hits since Sept.15. The suggestion at the end of a half an hour film is that we should think about applying to the Government to see some of the 60,000 hours of CCTV footage that supposedly makes the case for the Official narrative released earlier this year:

But, on second thoughts, they’ve already tried that and they won’t even release a single image of any of the alleged bombers anywhere in London, so there’s no point, and besides, the government passed a law in June 2005 saying that any public inquiry was subject to the veto of the relevant ministry – so that wouldn’t work either. It reminds me of when the Whitehouse ‘released’ footage of the evidence that a plane went into the Pentagon – and then the stuttering Fox news report that realised there wasn’t actually any image of a plane in the material.

There is plenty of coverage on Indymedia and elsewhere of the atrocities going down in Palestine and Lebanon, but this film on Google highlights the way that the media is heavily censored in USA [as if we didn’t know]

this film came out in April and boasts hits of ¾ million as well as an excellent website. So basically the problem seems to be of getting the message across through the smokescreen of media brainwashing. Actually what we need to do is find ways of overturning the ‘official narrative’ - If, as Tony Benn repeated at the Stop the War demo on Saturday – the whole war on terror is in fact a charade to disguise an imperial military force of globalisation – then its primary weapon is the media which lulls us all into complicity. Not surprisingly the purpose of this machine is not only to silence the dissent which attempts to grab the headlines, [remember how the hysteria after Madrid got suddenly dampened down?] , but also to obscure any real understanding of reality by the powers that control the media and who have an interest in chaos. A classic example of this ‘mindfuck’ is the ‘story’ about some security company in London doing a practice drill in readiness for an attack in exactly the same places and at exactly the same time that it was ‘really’ happening – which meant that all they had to do was make it a real event instead of a pretend one!!!
