Euopean campaign to ensure that all cosmetics sold in the EU are cruelty-free!

A European ban on the marketing of all cosmetics products that have been tested on animals is due to come into effect in March 2013. However, it now appears that the ban is going to be postponed yet again, possibly even until 2025!

This is a call-out for support in developing a multi-lingual, Europe-wide, grassroots network to hold the European politicians are held to account and ensure that on March 11th, 2013 all the cosmetics products sold in the European Union are cruelty-free.

On 24 February there will be a solidarity action at the Swiss embassy for Silvia, Billy and Costa .

On the 15th of April 2010 Silvia Guerini, Luca Bernasconi (called Billy) and Costantino Ragusa (called Costa) have been arrested nearby Zurich, in Switzerland. Their car was stopped and searched by the police that found explosives, gas bottles, incendiary devices and communiques signed ELF Switzerland. From the communique is clear the intention to attack the construction site of the new IBM research center of nanotechnologies in Ruschlikon, Zurich.

It was recently leaked to the Guardian newspaper that the European Parliament will probably be asked to postpone a ban intended to impose a Europe-wide ban on the use of animals for testing cosmetic products, (and their ingredients), and a simultaneous ban on the sale of cosmetic products tested on animals after the European ban comes into force.

Cyber Action -- Urge Air Canada to Stop Transporting Monkeys for Vivisection

It was recently disclosed that Air Canada are transporting monkeys for research after an employee at Toronto international airport tipped off the BUAV that a shipment of 48 monkeys, destined for Montreal, was being held at the airport after arriving from China. As Air Canada doesn't have a cargo division, all the monkeys they transport must be being carried in the cargo hold of passenger flights with people's luggage.
