Genetic Modification by Royal Approval

In the madness of recent weeks, this one certainly seems to have slippered on by, at least until now.

Last week, just a day before Willie & Kate tied a knot in it (thankfully no radioactive rain, no lead brollies and no Willie Wellies), our glorious Queen gave Royal Approval at the opening of a new GM centre of excellence, at Cambridge University.

The new building named the Sainsbury Laboratory is located within the grounds of the universities Botanic Garden. The project is in the main part, funded by The Gatsby Charitable Foundation which was established in 1967 by David (now Lord) Sainsbury.

Lord Sainsbury is more well known for his links with Sainsbury's the high profile supermarket and, more importantly, GM food, for which he has been a champion of the cause for many years. Most recently as of September last year he has been pushing forward the case for an open agenda, on GM in the UK, while worried about the looming food crisis. (Although no mention of the economic effect of rising prices enforced by traders and anybody else working towards 'The ageing New Order' while small farmers are put out to farm, for the rest of their lives, working behind a checkout in Tesco or Next, or left for the Vultures in Africa.)

David has also been in the media over his disputed links to the cash for honours scandal while serving as Science Minister for the Blair Govt. Rightly so, he was acquitted, he was already a Lord and the payment came after (a couple of mil in laymans terms) he recieived his Pier. Clearly the arguments, of conflict of interest and party donations (after the fact!), will continue to be debated for many years to come.

It appears that we are to be flooded with a surplus of 120 GM advocates per year in the future, that are almost guaranteed, positions of relative poisoning to society, when the inevitable, statistical, mistake unfolds.

It is worth noting that the UK Govt, has not, to this day, denounced GM crops on these Islands of ours.

P.S. wrap up your greenhouses (if you're on the ball from Nuclear).
P.P.S don't bother, it don't work anyway, they can't breathe!

A thorn of reality.
