Corporate giants who poison and pollute also control "policy"

A Warning to the ME/CFS Community
Margaret Williams

27th June 2004

It is a matter of record that there is mounting awareness and concern over
the increasing manipulation of science and medicine by global corporations
with vested interests which now amounts to a stranglehold.

It seems that this corporate control extends not only to a corrupted peer
review process that results in a biased view being presented to the medical
community by compliant or ineffectual editors of medical journals, but the
US government now insists that scientists must be politically approved
before the scientists can participate in meetings of the World Health
Organisation.

Syngenta and Monsanto drop GM sugar beet

06-05-2004 15:34

Earlier this year Syngenta and Monsanto withdrew both their GM sugar beet varieties Pacific and Sturgeon from the UK national seed listing process . Late this spring it became apparent that they were conducting no UK field trials of GM sugarbeet in this growing season . Now Syngenta and Monsanto have gone the whole hog and have withdrawn their application for EU part C marketing consent for Event #77 (aka T9100152) sugar beet the GM line upon which both Pacific and Sturgeon are based.

This leaves only Bayer CropScience’s GM herbicide tolerant oilseed rape MS8xRF3 still in the running for potential commercialisation in the UK.
