The 'Project for a New American Century' is sinking so fast that only the blood besmirched American flag is still visible above the ruins, the genocides, cemeteries and globally growing waves of intense contempt. Within six years the US management and its war machine has been unveiled: the blood of it's victims has definitely washed away the façade.

Scottish Socialist Party upholds interests of Scottish business

Scottish nationalism is not a left-wing or anti-imperialist movement, as the SSP maintains. It first emerged as a significant political force only in the late 1960s as a response amongst sections of academia, business and the middle class to their own social concerns.

More McHospitals for Merseyside! (part 2)

Clatterbridge Centre for Oncology and University Hospitals Aintree were today given 'foundation' status by Health Secretary Patricia Hewitt, meaning that three NHS hospitals on Merseyside are now open to private business. In June, the Liverpool Womens' Hospital opened itself up for bids to 'help' manage its finances.

Taxing Times for Inland Revenue Strikers

Tax offices in Bootle, Glasgow, Newcastle, Salford, Wrexham, Cardiff, Portsmouth, Leicester, Bradford and Edinburgh were closed yesterday as up to 8,000 workers came out on strike against plans to make them fill in forms accounting for each hour they work.

Angry hospital staff protest in Southport

Workers facing redundancy staged a protest at plans to cut 83 jobs from Southport and Ormskirk hospitals. More than 50 members of Amicus and Unison unions staged a protest against the cuts outside the Southport site from noon until 2pm yesterday.

Dunlop Strike

A mass picket was held on Friday 14th July at the gates of B'ham's Wood Lane, Dunlop Motorsport & UK Technical Centre, the seemingly unreported all-out strike, is now entering its third week (Rubberworkers Lodge 411, Convener John Oaks - mobile 07890938492).

A scan of the GMB, BTUC and  http://www.newsnow.co.uk/newsfeed sites found no links to any report of the strike action, which is presumably over pay? A trawl through the pages of the B'ham Post and B'ham Mail obtained a similar result.

Merseyside Ambulance Staff in Second 24hr Strike

Ambulance workers across Merseyside and Cheshire are preparing for a second 24 hour strike in a dispute over pay. Technicians, who assist paramedics in ambulances, began a series of three walkouts last Thursday after the collapse of talks with their bosses.
