TUSC announces 'biggest left-of-Labour electoral challenge in sixty years'

As nominations close, the Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC) has announced that it is fielding 561 candidates in the local elections on May 22nd. In addition there will be TUSC candidates for three of the five directly-elected mayor contests taking place on the same day. This will be the biggest left of Labour challenge in such elections in 60 years.

Thursday 24th April marked the one year anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh, in which over 1000 people died, and thousands more were seriously injured. Benetton shops were closed across Europe by protesters demanding compensation for the victims.
