International Reclaim the Fields camp joins Rosia Montana against the new Romani
26-09-2011 18:39
On the 24 September at 15:00 o'clock, the international participants of the Reclaim the Fields camp, together with the local association Alburnus Maior, from Rosia Montana, Romania, held a lively street demonstration in the village's Old Square. Local and international people are opposing plans to open Europe's largest open cast gold mine and a proposed new law on expropriation currently being discussed in the Romanian parliament. The law would enable private mining companies, instead of the Romanian state and judicial system, to carry out forced expropriation of residents, in a clear violation of human rights. What Is Nationalism? Part I
24-09-2011 11:18
The beginnings of a short historical analysis of what nationalism is, exploring the various philosophers and historical conditions which lead to the birth of many different parties, separated by history, like the National Socialists, Nuclei Armati Rivoluzionario and English Defence League. Only by understanding these things will we be able to triumph against the real menaces in Nationalism and build a truly borderless society - but the trouble is, the problem may not be what it seems at first sight! There is a man, who may be ignorant, but history and his mother made him. He might beat us, he might cause much suffering, but this does not mean he understands why he causes it. We must defend ourselves physically, but the defence of the Truth is another thing. If we defend against the wrong aspects of any ideas, we may find in the end that lies, and therefore suffering, triumphs.Full article | 4 additions | 1 comment

Wall Street Occupation is ongoing. The End of Traditional Antisystemic Movements and the Need for A New Type of AM
18-09-2011 23:04
The meaning of 'antisystemic movements', the cange in the systemic parameters in the era of neoliberal modernity, class structure changes and their political implications, ideological crisis and the rise of postmodernism and irrationalism, 'old' antisystemic movements (the collapse of socialist statism and the bankruptcy of anarchism as an antisystemic movement), 'new' antisystemic movements (the end of Greens as an antisystemic movement, the death of feminism as an antisystemic movement), the anti-globalisation movement and the need for a new type of antisystemic movement.World Week for the Abolition of Meat: 23-30 Sept 2011
18-09-2011 17:54
The aim is to promote again and again the idea that the production and consumption of animal flesh must be abolished.
The idea is to claim loud and clear that it is not only the duty of each individual to stop supporting the murderous exploitation required by the consumption of animal flesh and "by-products", but that it is also, therefore, the duty of societies as a whole to declare themselves
for the banning of farming, fishing and hunting.
The post-9/11 decade of lies
08-09-2011 19:05
The propaganda myth of 9/11, imbedded inextricably into the fibers of society and culture, and into the brain cells of naïve, willfully uninformed people, is back for another sickening “commemoration”.
Who chooses to “commemorate” the lie of 9/11? Undoubtedly, the high officials and elites who planned the event, who successfully achieved everything they wanted---unending war for oil, naked fascism and militarism, and economic conquest---from this ultimate false flag operation. The atrocity of 9/11, the desperate act of an empire facing extinction, was not an “intelligence failure”, but the greatest intelligence success and criminal operation in history.

01-09-2011 19:02
From the allegedly liberal left to Murdoch’s hard right, the media spectrum continues to shine green for 'go' on the Libyan war. An Independent on Sunday (IoS) editorial on August 28 observes:
‘This newspaper supported Nato's military intervention, and Britain's part in it, when it began in March, but it was a choice between hard and complex options – and so it remains.’

30-08-2011 13:18
Maikel Nabil Sanad, the imprisoned pacifist blogger and conscientious objector sentenced to three years' imprisonment for "insulting the military" on 10 April 2011 (see co-alert, 11 April 2011), began a hunger strike in protest against his continued imprisonment on Tuesday, 23 August 2011 (see co-alert, 24 August 2011). He was moved to solitary confinement on 25 August 2011, but the prison authorities refuse to transfer him to the prison hospital (see co-alert, 25 August 2011). A Spaniard’s Testimony from Libya
26-08-2011 15:03
IJID Note: As this interview took place just before the launching of the NATO military attack against Libya at the end of March, it can be taken as a third party’s testimony reflecting the feelings of most of Libyan people just before the western aggression.Leonor’s note: First of all, I want to note that my testimony is my personal opinion and I don't have any economic or political interests. My only wish is to talk about the country and about the people who live in it because I think there's a lot of ignorance about it. In fact, all the mass media information is being focused on a particular man (Gaddafi) in a very biased way.

Liberatory Education for Autonomy
22-08-2011 23:24
The goal of liberatory education is to provoke the student to question all taken-for-granted values, ideas, norms, beliefs, etc. of her experience that are the given presuppositions comprising the dominant social paradigm. The space this educational act opens up, as rupture, emancipates the learner from the domination of what has been taken-as- given. The "elimination" of poverty
22-08-2011 21:44
The ideologues of the New World Order which was imposed by the capitalist neo-liberal globalization have already proved their great skill to eliminate or distort annoying terms such as socialism, democracy (in its classic meaning of self-management), resistance against occupiers (defined today as "terrorism"), etc.
