British xenophobe and racist policy against immigrants --Say NO to charges!
Abolish Visa Renewal Charges for International Students!
Abolish Visa Renewal Charges for all Immigrants in the UK!

According to a document of the British Home Office Department of State, Consultation
Review of charges for immigration applications, September 2004, the UK government displays an obscene xenophobe and racist proposal against all immigrants living already in the Uk or that plan to come to the UK. They pretend to increase a 958.3 % of the fees to all immigrants! If nationals process a Leave to remain in their home countries will cost £ 36 GBP, but with the new fee they will have to pay £ 345, that is, a 958.3 % increase of the fee in any British Embassy or Consulate abroad! Stop the British Nazi policies!

Do students in Edinburgh become more politicised?

04-12-2004 11:47

Edinburgh University is having a referendum on affiliating to NUS, the National Union of Students. In the website  http://wwwyes2nus.com the campaign for voting “yes” to join the NUS is presented, whilst on  http://www.saneonline.org.uk the opposition is mobilising.
Currently the EUSA- the Edinburgh Union Student Association- is not affiliated to the NUS, though the two organisations were historically connected. It has not been a member since 1979, when students voted in a referendum to leave. A referendum in 1984 decided to maintain that position.

Voting was also possible online under  http://www.esp.ed.ac.uk.

If the campaign fails, then Labour in England will be off the hook. Should it suceed, Blair will be left abandoned at a crucial time (i.e. near a General Election).

Second USUK Falluja massacre
As part of its patriotic role, the media is drip-feeding the British public the impression that Iraqis are in control of their country and are deeply committed to fighting the insurgency. This is crucial propaganda lending a veneer of legitimacy to an illegal occupation and the staggering violence by which it is being maintained. The reality - that a Western superpower is imposing its will on an impoverished but oil-rich Third World country against the will of its people - is nowhere in sight.
