Notttingham's annual carnival took place at the city's Forest Recreation Ground on July 3rd and 4th with a procession of dancers and floats from the castle on Sunday 4th. The parade was a well attended event with the warm weather encouraging large crowds along the route, through Radford and Hyson Green.

The well-known exiled North Korean painter and animal rights activist Latuff, who is living in Brazil produced a new copyright-free picture in support of COALITION FOR ANIMAL RIGHTS IN NORTH KOREA IN EXILE (CARNKE). The picture shows some courageous fighters of the ANIMAL LIBERATION ARMY - KOREAN PEOPLE´S DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC (ALA-KPDR) at their clandestine animal rights gathering near Pjoengjang zoo in 1985, planning an attack to liberate tortured galapagos-iguanas, who are abused for perversions like games, similar to spanish bullfights.

Maybe not to everyone's tastes, but this years Glastonbury Festival is in full swing and Indymedia is there to cover the goings on that are relevant to the activist community and to reach out to get people involved and excited about participating in Indymedia collectives around the country. A mobile "Be the media" centre has been provided by the Northern Indymedia collective at the Veggies Catering Campaign pitch in the green futures field and will be running alt-media workshops throughout the weekend in conjunction with IMC Nottinghamshire.
