City Council Hands £30k to PwC to Answer the Obvious

Nottingham City Council are paying PricewaterhouseCoopers to conduct a study into hiving off services to a non-profit trust.

Nottingham City Council is to spend £30k on a preliminary investigation into the possibility of passing responsibility for services to a non- profit trust.

If the study, by uber accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers concludes positively there will be a 'detailed business assessment', cost unknown.

Why they can't just go and ask all the other councils who've tried such a daft stunt (e.g. Leicester City, which abandoned plans to hive off its leisure services a few years back) I don't know.
