March and Protest against Novartis in Horsham

02-11-2009 15:27

We were very pleased that approximately 70 people turned out for our demonstration and march against Novartis in Horsham on Saturday .

Up until 2pm the day before we were not even sure that the demonstration would be able to take place, as Novartis had attempted to get an interim injunction. Novartis were seeking to prevent banners on the demonstration from bearing the words "Novartis", or carry posters showing images of animal suffering. They didn't want protesters to be able to wear masks or costumes; in particular blood stained lab coats. They did also mention something about fireworks!

More Primate Torture at NASA

31-10-2009 17:14

NASA, since its inception has been a primate abuser. Now besides shooting
chimps and dogs into space to circle in the void alone until they die or blow up
in an obsolete Lockheed shuttle, the rogue agency, dominated by war profiteers, intends to irradiate primates. The agency has a contempt for public outrage..[/B]

The movie Project X was made about Dr Don Barnes and his refusal at Brooks Air Force
Base to do similar things.

Horsham march in tussle over freedom to protest

31-10-2009 11:39

Yesterday in the Royal Courts of Justice, Mr Justice Sweeney ruled against an application which sought to ban all face masks, animal costumes, "blood" splattered coats, and any banners that used the words "murder", "torture", "kills" & "abuses" on an animal rights demonstration. The application was brought by the pharmaceutical giant Novartis in response to a demonstration being held today by Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty in Horsham town centre. If the case had gone ahead it would have set a very significant precedent.

Emancipation, Anti-Fascism & Animal Liberation

28-10-2009 11:06

After a recent article, (seemingly now either hidden or deleted from the Newswire), which quite rightly provoked a debate about racism, fascism and other forms of arbitrary discrimination in the Animal Rights movement.

However, the original article appeared to have been pubished by a troll attempting to discredit the AR movement, (hence why it is no longer on the Newswire), so I thought it appropriate to reopen the debate by providing a proper incite into fascism and the AR movement, as well as introducing the "Animal Liberation Hallmarks" project which was created in attempt to resist fascist infiltration of our movement and to allow groups to make a clear statement about their emancipatory status:--
