The gap between the urgent threat of global warming and the collective will to do something about it has never been greater. The recently concluded Conference on Climate Change in Bali was a grand opportunity to act. Instead, it was another missed opportunity. Unfortunately, the United States played a very negative role, standing in the way of consensus at every turn. And unfortunately, the rest of the world thought that seducing the US into a new agreement on climate action was top priority, resulting in a Bali Roadmap that was very sketchy.

The G8 Summit will take place between the 7th and 9th of July. Our action days will begin on the 1st of July. There will be a series of themed demos in Sapporo during succeeding four days. July 5th shall be the day of mass rally and demo in Sapporo. We propose to make it the international day of action, calling a simultaneous protest in different cities of the world. During the three days of the Summit we are planning mass direct action at sites near Lake Toya.

The ‘Party’ which has been alleged to have introduced ‘Mr Bean’ into the so-called lexicon learned discourse in ‘ the mother of parliaments’, exposed its own infinite idiocy by competing fur space to show just how pathetically full of ignorance and lack of substance it was…. This is why the Khoodeelaar! Campaign has to carry on with the task that fills that gap s brazenly created by the bankruptcy of the time serving, unrepresentative and overpaid MPs…

Climate Talks concluded in Bali with the United States caving in under pressure of the European Union and the developing world and agreeing to a substantially watered down compromise text in the preamble of "Deep cuts in global emissions will be required" to avoid dangerous climate change.
