The Toronto G-20 summit sent a message to poor and working people in Europe and North America. “You will pay for the global financial crisis through cuts to your social safety nets. US and Israel quietly announce plans to reconstitute their nuclear stockpiles

13-07-2010 13:16 | Anti-militarism | Globalisation | Other Press | World

Obama’s meeting Netanyahu in the White House, Washington D.C. 6 July 2010
The Obama administration makes Orwellian claims that it is moving toward disarmament - when in fact it's doing the opposite by reconstituting its aging arsenal. At the same time, Obama demonizes foreign nations such as Iran, which international inspectors and US intelligence agencies concede is not developing nuclear weapons (at least according to all available intelligence).

When criminals rule the World

Brown, Obama, Sarkozy, Hoop Scheffer, Merkel at NATO's 60th Anniversary Summit
For anyone willing to look at the public record of the first decade of this century and accept the obvious reality that we have at hand two aggressive and therefore illegal wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, initiated on the basis of a fraud against the governments and democratic electorates of several countries and resulting in so many civilian deaths that a conclusion of genocide is inescapable, there is an instant short-list of people with power who need to face criminal charges (if sufficient people of influence and principle were to confront and address this reality now we may avoid a third such war with Iran, borne of the very same template of criminal fraud).

A week after Stanley McChrystal's resignation as head of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, an ephemeral scandal that disappeared as quickly, which is to say instantaneously, as it developed, the U.S. Senate voted as it customarily does in matters of foreign policy - unanimously - and in a 99-0 vote confirmed Petraeus as the new commander of the world's longest and largest-scale war.

After yet more and more articles 'blaming' the blac bloc - a simple yet effective slang term for those of us that dont give a shit about raising capitalism to the ground in order to buld new, sustainable community
ies for all and every - for the 'violence' in Toronto, I thought I'd knock up this little article so that the 'fluffies' out there - the ones who keep 'blaming' the blac bloc for the strentgh of the elite machine - might be able to answer this question, why is it so hard to understand we need violence to defeat the system?

Imperialists derail liberation struggle from 1960 until today
By Abayomi Azikiwe - Editor, Pan-African News Wire
Five decades after the independence of the former Belgian Congo, the genuine emancipation of this central African state is yet to be realized. Nonetheless, the survival of this state--which has been under assault since 1960 when Patrice Lumumba took charge of the country as Prime Minister representing the Congolese National Movement (MNC)--is a testament of the resilience and fortitude of the people. -  http://garizo.blogspot.com/2010/07/congo-independence-fifty-years-after.html

Bend It Like Imperialism! The World Cup 1, African Liberation Nil

21-06-2010 19:59 | Analysis | Globalisation | Social Struggles | World

So many Black American entertainers and luminaries flocked to the World Cup opening ceremonies in South Africa, one veteran activist was prompted to remark that "these folks are crossing the picket line." It is a line that separates South Africa's poor Black majority from the real beneficiaries of the "gold" - "the soccer elites of FIFA, the elites of domestic and international corporate capital and the political elites who are making billions and who will be benefiting at the expense of the poor."
