The External Cost of Spying

28-03-2014 14:35 | Analysis | Climate Chaos | Globalisation | World

Not only is the spying perpetrated by the failing nation states of the so-called "West" and their accomplices the worst crime in Earth history, a collective suicide of all its perpetrators and a monstrous waste of indispensable resources and possibilities, it also is a stain on the record of the planetary biogenesis as the following will elaborate. Even if no external observer is systematically paying attention, and even when that attention is not penetrative but respectful to all limits of internal affairs, the diagnosis whether a technologically significant biogenesis is plagued by this pest can reliably be made from its intentionally visible emissions alone. Since the external attention is unknown by definition, it cannot be appeased by any propaganda, and the full integrity of the scientific method is assured. This analysis shows what an external perception of Earthly life would have to expect as the result of spying, and what these findings were to result in for its decisions about its handling of our planet.

Our title, the self-diagnosis of the Captain Ahab, applies just as fittingly to the US led corporatocracy says Chris Hedges in his allegorical reading of Melville's Moby Dick. A variety of material, including an unread chapter of Charles Eisenstein's Ascent of Humanity and an interview with gift economy pioneers Vic Button and Frank Bowman point the way to a more optimistic end for humanity than that of the Ahab's doomed whaling voyage.

The revolte 2013 in brazil, repression and the struggle for an ongoing movement

16-01-2014 01:19 | Globalisation | Repression | Social Struggles | World

“the media lies, the government robs, the police kills and i am a vandalist?”
Grown on the increasing social unjustice in the brazilian society, this june and july saw brazilians strongest and most ongoing spontaneous uprising and grassroot-movement in history against the current structures and conditions. One of the promoters for the growing of the protests was thereby the violent police forces, that showed even to middle-class protesting people, how the state protects against changes.

The Cascade of Evil or the Double Negative Effect of Digital Totalitarianism

28-12-2013 16:29 | Analysis | Globalisation | Technology | World

It is a blatantly obvious contradiction – on one hand the worst regimes on the planet (in terms of overall historical record not current rating) are wasting horrendous efforts to oppress the most advanced people, on the other these same regimes are totally failing to heal any of the wounds their destructive forces leave on the record of the species and its environment. The terror regime in the name of the people has become so bad that everything it is allegedly meant to protect against is happening by accident because nobody cares. The signs are visible to the unaided eye that the atmosphere may not take it any longer and produce a climate collapse smashing the face of the Earth, but the regimes decide to squander the resources for harassment and abuse rather than dedicate them to a solution of the planetary problems. The wisdom of total abolition is whispered along by every natural being, but the machinery of hopelessness is running hotter every time it is being switched up a gear, and its growling and howling is getting lost in the skies. Since regimes need people but people do not need regimes, it is not just an ideal failure but one of these gross inappropriatenesses of the current which later on tend to be recognised as its defining elements and can only be done with by its complete breakdown. What is hence required is a coherent theory of digital totalitarianism that allows gaining explanations and making predictions useful for the disassembly of it. What is this monstrous conglomerate that has become of the system of nation states and how can its vast and complex problems be described in a way more useful against them than for their obfuscation?

Predatory Hedge Funds and Argentina Face Supreme Court Showdown

17-12-2013 18:56 | Anti-militarism | Globalisation | Indymedia | World

Argentina is expected to appeal to the US Supreme Court by mid-February in response to a US 2nd Circuit Court ruling ordering the country to pay $1.33 billion to predatory hedge funds. The precedent the case sets will hurt poor countries in financial distress and could allow a small group of hedge funds to target assets that benefit vulnerable populations.

on the use value of psychology in current Kiev upsurge in fascism

10-12-2013 09:50 | Occupy Everywhere | Gender | Globalisation | Health | World

This post is a direct news-related reaction to the discussion started at
 https://www.indymedia.org.uk/en/2013/12/514114.html

Two tendencies of Western EUropean and US discussions do not seem to be terribly helpful in our current fight against the fascistic upsurge in Kiev:
- seeing the East as something far apart and just catastrophic and
-assuming that desturbed minds are on their way just where corporate media choose to show them these days: with folks close to Kiev working classes

Mind, that psychology, as most beople know and practice it is still a distincltly ruling class ideology, especially its "textbook" vulgarisations. Bourgeois psychology wants to keep you normal, average consumer, average subject, average wage earner (just keep your indymedia.uk contributions NORMAL). This is completely detached from social reality, a new religion for the toiling class. Hunting for profits in the upper strata of today's European "business community" means asserting your strategy in a bonfire of highly and cynically crazy macho individuals.

U.S. Supreme Court Will Not Take Argentina and NML Capital Debt Case

07-10-2013 18:39 | Analysis | Globalisation | Social Struggles | World

The U.S. Supreme Court decided not to take the landmark debt case between Argentina and bondholders led by NML Capital, a hedge fund that buys the debt of countries in financial crisis. Argentina is expected to file a second petition in the coming months that the Supreme Court will review and decide again if it will hear the case. In June, Argentina filed a writ of certiorari to the U.S. Supreme Court asking the court to overturn a ruling by the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals made last October. The ruling ordered Argentina to pay bondholders $1.33 billion based on the court’s interpretation of a pari passu, or parity clause.

Egypt – State of Disinformation

16-07-2013 12:33 | Analysis | Globalisation | Social Struggles | World

It seems to have become a conundrum for many, but it was obvious for some at least since last summer when Morsi compromised with the spies of the old regime. This sort of Islamic revolution would be very different from the one in Persia a generation ago, where Khomeini resisted that temptation, not as much as the death toll on the most revolutionary segments of the population is concerned, but in its fundamental architecture and outlook to the future. The current Persian regime, whatever one might think of it, was literally rebuilt from mud, but in Egypt it was the remainder of the old which served as the raw material for the new one, with the Islamic association being little more than the icing on the cake. This decoration has now been removed, and lacking an internal enemy the structural legacy of generations of imperialist meddling has come to the fore.
