The fraud of the Leveson Inquiry

17-05-2013 17:14

I was just about the perfect witness for Leveson because I had been grossly abused by the press twice, failed utterly by the PCC and had evidence of corrupt practices involving the police and the mainstream press. Yet Leveson not only refused to call me as a witness, refused to allow me to be a core participant and failed to use any of the evidence I had supplied, he was so desperate to write me out of the script that I was omitted from the list of those who had supplied information to the Inquiry when he published his report.

In January 2013 I supplied Operation Elveden with a letter from Piers Morgan when editor of the Mirror to the PCC in which he admitted receiving information from the police in circumstances which can only have been illegal.I also provided other information about Morgan's perjury before the Leveson Inquiry. Four months after the supply of the information there has been no action by Operation Elveden.

Athens Indymedia Banner

Reblogged from Anarchist Federation Scotland: Guest post by a Greek anarchist living in Scotland.

Τhe last few years have been a time of global capitalist crisis, where the financial system has, after two decades of frantic over-accumulation and fake development, collapsed yet again. The neoliberal promises of continuous development reached an end and we are all facing the results of this collapse, depending on the country in which we are living. The purpose of this article is to make a brief report of the latest repressive practices of the Greek state against the anarchist movement and Greek society in general as a result of this systemic crisis of capitalism.

Your rights and section 50 Police Reform Act

04-05-2013 11:49

If you are stop and searched or to held in a kettle, you DO NOT have to give police your name and address. The police will often ask for your details in these situations, but you DO NOT have to provide them.

However, under section 50 of the Police Reform Act the police DO have powers to take your name and address (but not date of birth) IF they reasonably believe you have engaged in anti-social behaviour. Anti-social behaviour is defined as doing something likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to others.

Protest treated as anti-social behaviour

01-05-2013 19:00

Powers given to the police to deal with anti-social behaviour are increasingly being used to gather information on participants in political protest.

Section 50 of the Police Reform Act gives police the power to demand personal details, if the officer reasonably believes that the individual has been involved in anti-social behaviour. Over the years the police have interpreted a wide variety of protest activity as ‘anti-social behaviour’ in order to obtain the names and addresses of those taking part. This has included sit-down protests, handing out leaflets and spontaneous demonstrations.

attack on bristol security firm

30-04-2013 09:49

No peace for the defenders of commodity-society. Their security = a joke once again. Our latest target was Avon and Somerset Guarding, on Fishponds Rd, we broke half the storefront glass and attacked the CCTV camera, leaving an anarchy symbol tagged on the scene. Enough uniformed bastards in our lives, let's trash the control apparatus. Shouts to anti-fascist of action Jock Palfreeman, held in Bulgaria - love for our comrades, hate for their jailers. That's all for now

„Solidarity Clause”: EU secret service to be reinforced?

16-04-2013 07:07

The „solidarity clause“ regulates the use of police, secret service and military means in case of a crisis within the EU

The EU Commission and the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy issued a proposal for the structuring of the so-called „solidarity clause” [1]. The document refers to article 222 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) [2].

The EU institutions respectively the member states of the EU are to be bound to assist each other in case of a damaging event. This includes the use of police, secret service and military means. The „solidarity clause” determines that engagement in the territory of another state shall only be allowed at the „request of its political authorities”.

Lesvos GR: entry to Uni conference of paramilitary coastguard to 'control ID'

Entry of paramilitary coastguards and cops to the international conference ''World Research Day: Political Freedoms, Human Rights and Europe' in the grounds of the University of the Aegean to 'gather details of the organizers' and to 'control ID of visitors'.
