10-07-2004 04:04
Why Does Fahrenheit 9/11 Pursue Conspiracy Theory Rather Than History? Because 9/11 conspiracy theory protects the Democratic Party, whereas historical analysis would implicate it in the criminal consequences of decades of collaboration between Washington and Riyadh as well as other unsavory allies."The One-Eyed Houseguest" - A Skint but Pretty theatre debut

BULKINGTON FIELDS EVICTED – 1 JULYOn 12 January 2004 one of the very few uplifting victories for Travellers facing eviction occurred at Bulkington Fields, when over 100 Travellers living at the site dug ditches, built barricades, and resisted together a shameful eviction of the families from land they owned. In the early morning hours of Wedenesday, 30 June an estimated 100 bailiffs and police in riot gear – without any prior warning – stormed the site and forcefully evicted the families from their homes and land, arresting 4 people.

Closing a school, abusing civilians at a check point, following orders, staying in a family's comandeered home, posing for trophy photos with enemy bodies, being the law, enjoying power, feeling ashamed, getting addicted to controlling people, dispersing a funeral, wanting to forget, not caring, the ease in which you actually do whatever you want to do unsupervised, the unbearable lightness of these things that happen. 12,643 words of testimoniesGay Pride mocks Jamaican hate singers

BP-sponsored British Museum exhibition of stolen property targeted
02-07-2004 10:53
On July 1st 2004, London Rising Tide (LRT) dropped in on 'Mummy - the inside story' at the British Museum, billed as 'a BP Special Exhibition'. We unfurled a banner reading 'Oil Fuels Climate Chaos' in the main covered area, suggesting to the visiting throngs that BP is profiting from oil wars and climate change while diverting the public gaze away from these dark truths with a widespread programme of cultural sponsorship.
