The “War against Terror” is a War against the People
06-02-2007 00:12
In this interview recorded by Swiss journalist Silvia Cattori in November 2005 - more than six months before the war launched against Lebanon by Israeli army in summer 2006 – Youssef Aschkar was warning that the destabilization of Lebanon, Syria and Iran was under way, and that Lebanon was the country most threatened and most vulnerable to the Israeli menace. In the light of the recent developments in the region, the accuracy of his analysis appears impressive and almost prophetic.Full article | 2 additions | 2 comments

In light of President Bush’s determination to send an additional 21,000 plus troops to Iraq, regardless of the position of Congress and the American people, the citizens of the United States must be made aware of the ongoing experimentation and outright disregard for our American troops. With nearly thirty-six percent of our Gulf War I troops disabled, we must hold those responsible for such negligence accountable for these atrocities.Eight charged under SOCPA 128

The execution was carried out, as a psychological weapon, to usher in sectarian violence and division throughout the Middle East. The timing also coincided with several announcements and news reports of war plans by the United States and Israel in regards to Syria and Iran. It is no coincidence that shortly after the execution, the U.S. President identified Syria and Iran as the enemies of Iraq and raided an Iranian Consulate in Iraqi Kurdistan.Parliamentary Public Meeting - Ban Uranium Weapons

Against imperialist war, for Iran workers
30-01-2007 16:05
Over the last week, we have witnessed an escalation in the level of threats against Iran and an increase in the American military presence in the Persian Gulf, with the aim of controlling key waterways, should Iran retaliate against a potential US military threat. At the same time it is quite clear that indirect negotiations are taking place between the United States and Iran and the current US threats are an integral part of that.Iraq’s colonial occupier, the US, denounces “foreign meddling”
30-01-2007 12:01
In recent weeks US government and military officials, aided and abetted by the American media, have stepped up the war of words against Iran. As they did precisely four years ago, in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq, the political and media establishment is attempting to build up a case for military action against a country that has no designs on American territory and represents no threat to the US population.Full article | 1 addition | 3 comments

Bush authorizes shoot-to-kill policy against Iranians in Iraq
29-01-2007 13:48
Troop surge paves way for wider warThe Bush administration has authorized US military forces in Iraq to hunt down and kill Iranian government personnel operating in that country, according to a report that first appeared in the Washington Post last Friday. The newspaper said President Bush authorized the new “kill or capture” program last fall during a meeting with his most senior advisors, which also resulted in the approval of a series of other measures aimed at destabilizing the Iranian regime.
Failed Logic and Rhetoric in the USA
29-01-2007 12:22
Hillary Clinton and the neo-cons have much in common, their policies in relation to a continued presence in Iraq (oil theft) are similar as are their inept, amateurish and transparent attempts at rhetoric. Hillary’s latest offering was a statement to the effect that the Bush regime has dug a “deep hole” in Iraq that would take some time for “us” to emerge from! Notice the tactic of blame laying [political capital] while at the same time ensuring continued presence in Iraq on the basis that “we” would be rectifying all of Bush’s mistakes – very good Hillary, continued neo-colonial occupation and oil appropriation has nothing to do with it! Are Americans so stupid that they no longer recognise horseshit when they see or smell it?Thousands Protest Iraq War In Washington - Jan. 27, 2007
