Urgent!! - Iraqi Government's 31st December Illegal Deadline For Forcible Closure Of Camp Ashraf

The Iraqi government intends to close down Camp Ashraf, home to 3400 Iranian dissidents, by 31st December 2011. This is in direct contravention to the residents' rights as protected persons under the Geneva Convention. Previous attacks by Iraqi forces at the behest of the Iranian regime have resulted in the death and injury of hundreds of people. This next imminent attack will be the worst to date, if it is not prevented.

Bradley Manning, Wikileaks, and Judicial Farce

After 19 long months of detention, including solitary confinement, Private Bradley Manning has been brought before the court – sort of. His pre-trial proceedings which began on Friday 16th December will be heard by a military ‘investigating official’, the equivalent of a civilian court judge.The hearings are supposed to continue through this weekend. The proceedings are being held in Fort Meade, in the north-eastern state of Maryland, also home to the National Security Agency.

Cardiff events for Bradley Manning: Sat 17 Dec

Saturday 17 December is an international day of action for accused WikiLeaks whistle-blower Bradley Manning on his 24th birthday. Bradley Manning's pre-trial hearing begins at Fort Meade, Maryland, USA on Friday 16 December and is expected to last most of the following week. Manning has Welsh family connections and we'll be marking the day in Cardiff. All welcome.

George Bush & Tony Blair's trial: Sparks fly at Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal

Today, seven judges of the Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal sat to hear formal charges against former President of the United States George W. Bush and former United Kingdom Prime Minister Tony Blair for Crimes Against the Peace.

But before the actual proceedings could get underway, Defense Counsel Team Leader Jason Kay Kit Leon charged one of the Judges with bias. Prosecutors characterized the allegation of bias and request for recusal as a "surprise" attack for which the Court had not had the opportunity to prepare.

20yrs of depleted uranium dumped on MoD's doorstep

LONDON: Campaigners have dumped 2.3 tonnes of imitation ‘depleted uranium (DU) dust’ on the MoD’s doorstep to remind them of their responsibility for contaminating areas of Iraq and Kuwait, during the 1991 and 2003 conflicts.
