Israelis and Iranians Against War

26-03-2012 11:22

Israelis aren't all like Netanyahu and Knesset extremists like him. Most want peace, not war. On March 24, Haaretz headlined, "Hundreds of Israelis march in Tel Aviv to protest war with Iran," saying: A Ronny Edry/Michal Tamir "Israelis against a war with Iran" Facebook campaign linked anti-war Israeli and Iranian citizens. It inspired protesters after it went viral, saying: "The newspaper headlines tell the tale: The prime minister is trying to legitimize an Israeli attack on Iran, which is expected soon." Another post read: "Most of the Israeli public is opposed to an adventure of this sort that may have catastrophic consequences. Many experts warn of the results an attack on Iran and a declaration of war of this sort may bring. Iran is expected to respond, meaning there would be many Israeli casualties." Quotes from supportive prominent Israelis were added, including former Mossad head Meir Dagan opposing an attack.

Heading for Inevitable Disaster

24-03-2012 10:32

In 1959, Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz liberated Cuba from imperial America, police state rule, and mafia bosses who turned the nation into a casino and brothel. Cubans may want change, but won't tolerate recolonization under puppets serving Washington's interests. On August 13, Fidel turns 86. After leading Cuba for decades, surviving hundreds of US attempts to kill him, a punishing embargo, and numerous other hostile acts, illness forced him to step down in December 2008. It didn't slow his determination to speak and write vital truths, especially on issues of war and peace. Like others, including this writer, he justifiably fears inevitable disastrous war. His latest article explains headlined, "The roads leading to disaster."

Song of Fire

21-03-2012 12:53

It is a matter of time not only in respect to its scarcity but also to its abundance that the capitalist democratic conditions are being sung their own melody to get them into motion, and it is a matter of space both in a cosmological and a terrestrial sense that a look at the most destructive form of fire does reveal how this is already happening. For the emancipation of the Earth from these inhumane conditions, which are trying to take away its resources, its diversity and even its seasons there are many paths, and to open them all this text is going to lighten a fire whose fuel has long been put into place amidst the devastations of capitalist democracy. Like lightning in a tree at a hill, it is going to make visible how that forged dream has stabbed its own heart.
