The appeal by Democracy Village after last week's High Court ruling will be heard at 10.30am this Friday (9th July) at the appeals court. In the meantime the camp is still going on strong, having started 'Operation Rolling Thunder', more – an ongoing programme of non-violent direct action. The village is calling out for people to come down and help on multiple fronts: to come and do actions, to help with the site, keep it tidy and maintain the gardens. Here are updated prisoner support details for the four Democracy Villagers jailed on Saturday by District Judge Nicholas Evans at City of Westminster Magistrates Court, Horseferry Road, London for their unwillingness or inability to pay £40 fines following Friday's peaceful anti-war sit-down protests outside the Houses of Parliament and Downing Street; and, in Simon's case, following the waving of a peace banner inside the courtroom on Saturday (contempt of court), and refusing to "purge his contempt", i.e. show remorse for his action.

the gov have taken this one step too far. some have suggested an eco village outside the prisons concerned. wandsworth common is on the doorstep. some have suggested blasting them with some freeman truth. none of the judges are on their oaths for victimless crimes.

GPs are being required to pass information to the police regarding people that they think are at risk from crime or at risk of committing one. This is meant to safeguard children and safegurad women who might be victims of domestic violence, rape, female circumcism or murder. It is also meant to protect people with mental health problems and others affected by it.

At approximately 14:10 yesterday, two concerned citizens from the Democracy Village on Parliament Square climbed a tree outside Downing Street and unfurled a banner which read: "Come on Dave, its time for peace, bring the boys home". This action is part of an ongoing campaign by citizens at the Democracy Village to call on the new government to withdraw British forces from Afghanistan.
