First hand account from the Devonport blockade
Report by Ray Davies of Trident Ploughshares and CND Cymru about today's Devonport blockade.
Devonport Dockyard Blockaded - Fourteen Arrests
Devonport Dockyard in Plymouth was blockaded on the morning of 1 November in an action called by the Plymouth-based Trident Ploughshares (TP) group, The Tamarians. Devonport Dockyard refits, maintains and upgrades the submarines which carry Britain's Trident nuclear weapon system, which has been declared illegal under international law. The yard is also increasingly becoming the dumping ground for old and out of service nuclear submarines, posing a further radioactive contamination hazard to the quarter of a million people who live nearby. The aim of the blockade was to close all gates to the shipyard from 6am. Fourteen people were arrested during the action. Protestors stop gas pipeline work
Today protestors halted National Grid's work on the new 115 mile gas pipeline running from Milford Haven to Gloucestershire.
Work on the controversial LNG Pipeline has been stopped in South West Wales
A section of the LNG pipeline has been blockaded at Trebanos, in the Swansea Valley by over a dozen activists. All work on that whole area of the project has been stopped.

Sign petition re closure of Gloucestershire mail centre
Royal Mail has recently announced the closure of Gloucestershire’s Mail Centre with plans to relocate the work 34 miles away to Swindon. This decision appears to have been taken with the minimum of consideration to the local community, businesses and and also, of the environmental impact of the extra distance involved in transporting mail out of, and back into Gloucester, via Swindon.

Kebele social centre in Easton, Bristol, remains (sadly) the only permanent radical volunteer run such centre in Bristol – that means no bosses and no paid staff. As we look forwards to the 11th anniversary of the founding of Kebele, we hope that readers & activists will go out and set up their own radical centre, in their part of town. Bristol needs not one, but many, long-term radical social centres, if we are to truly build an alternative to the dominance of the capitalist consumer culture and its destructive nature. 
Bristol Indymedia now consistently gets nearly as many hits as the Evening Post's ‘This Is Bristol’ website! If you do a 'Bristol' on UK Google pages, Bristol Indymedia comes out at around 7th place, and jostles for position with the 'This Is Bristol' website on busier days.
Members of Swindon Climate Action Network and Friends of the Earth joined today's rally outside the US Embassy with around 20,000 others, before marching to Trafalgar Square to join another 10,000 at the launch of the I-Count campign. Here are some photos. Audio and possibly a video to follow.
