Brad Will: Open Letter International

Like in the cases of so many other journalists, human rights activists, indigenous leaders and social activists, the murder of Brad Will, a U.S. journalist and documentary video maker from Indymedia New York, who was killed in Oaxaca on October 27, 2006, has been addressed by the Mexican Government with impunity for the murderers.

Torture, Paramilitarism, Occupation and Genocide: Torture as Policy under Bush

25-10-2007 19:22 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Repression | World

On October 5, George Bush confronted a public uproar and defended his administration claiming "This government does not torture people." Again he lied. Once secret US Department of Justice (DOJ) legal opinions confirm the Bush administration condones torture by endorsing "the harshest interrogation techniques ever used by the Central Intelligence Agency." It also condones paramilitary thuggery, oppressive occupation, and genocide. This unholy combination is the ugly face of an imperial nation run by war criminals. That's the state of things today.

Demand release of Aotearoa/NZ Political Prisoners

23-10-2007 15:52 | Anti-racism | Repression | Social Struggles | London | World

17 political activists in Aotearoa/New Zealand are being held in jail and threatened with charges of terrorism. What they have in common is supporting tino rangatiratanga, Maori claims to self-determination. These arrests are political (new tougher terrorism laws are coming up for debate in parliament) and aimed at creating a climate of fear. Therefore we see these arrests as state terrorism and demand the immediate release of the prisoners. This event is in support of a global day of action called by supporters of the prisoners.

Capitalisms Biggest success story "THE MAFIA"

23-10-2007 10:55 | Repression | Social Struggles | World

Forza Mafia !! INNIT
If anyone had any doubt about the mafia being the number one success story for (democratic) Capitalism an article published today in most Italian newspapers should put you straight on that one. Italy was founded by freemasons and run by the mafia from the off but now the mafia have recently become "ligit" business men or rather more accurately they have totally corrupted the entire politcal process and are therefore totally exempt from all controls.

The fight for the Enforceable Right to Housing in the midst
of Property Speculation

Campaigning for Housing and Land Rights in Europe.

www.reclaiming-spaces.org

It seems when "free-market" is adapted to the places where people
live, love, raise their children and their vegetables, THE LAND, from a
pure financial asset is becoming a poisoned asset; "Poisoned" in
fact by the voices and souls of people fighting for their dignity, for
their right to live in peace in the place where their families died rather
than become subject (physical and economical) of Stock Market brokers
in their Private Equity business.

Riots in Switzerland

20-10-2007 08:39 | Anti-racism | Free Spaces | Repression | World

Switzerland, Bern. The conservative and right winged party SVP tried to do a "march to Bern" on october the 6th. This march was planned as a part of the racist and antisocialist election campaign of the SVP. Planned was also a celeberation on the central place of Bern. What u got 2 know: the fascist leader Mussolini and his party once did a "march to rome" and adolf hitler and the NSDAP did a "march to Berlin". So this march of the SVP was a clear provocation.-

Massive riots stopped the march. At the central place of Bern a huge stage, several vans, mics - everything belonging to the SVP - was destroyed by anarchists and communists. The marchers were not able to reach the place though police fought for them against the rioters.

Myanmar's “Saffron Revolution”: The Geopolitics behind the Protest Movement

16-10-2007 19:13 | Anti-militarism | Repression | Social Struggles | World

Burma’s “Saffron Revolution,” like the Ukraine “Orange Revolution” or the Georgia “Rose Revolution” and the various Color Revolutions instigated in recent years against strategic states surrounding Russia, is a well-orchestrated exercise in Washington-run regime change, down to the details of “hit-and-run” protests with “swarming” mobs of Buddhists in saffron, internet blogs, mobile SMS links between protest groups, well-organized protest cells which disperse and reform. CNN made the blunder during a September broadcast of mentioning the active presence of the NED behind the protests in Myanmar.
