the Wednesday protest in Berlin
A German activist and academic, who was arrested over three weeks ago on suspicion of being a member of a 'terrorist group', has been released. Andrej Holm, 36, was freed on Wednesday afternoon after the judge decided to release him on bail. A protest demanding his release was taking place nearby around the same time unaware of the news . The other three, who were arrested around the same time on suspicion of supporting Militante Gruppe (MG) and attempted arson attack on military vehicles, are still in prison.

Politicians across the world are more open in their condemnation of Guantanamo Bay these days and a old friends of America have even said it should be closed down.

Criticism and calls for closure are being made quite openly by British government ministers now that Tony Blair's influence has gone.

But they are more reluctant to acknowledge the existence of another Guantanamo - one in their own backyard ... it is called HMP Long Lartin in England's leafy county of Wiltshire.

Norwegian Youth politicians detained in Western Sahara

Two Norwegian youth politicians, Andrea Gustavsson (on the left) and Kamilla Eidsvik (on the right), were detained on Monday in the city of El Aaiun, in Western Sahara. among which the fact that she cannot prove she is a lesbian.
