Three angry monkeys turned on their cruel trainer and beat him with his own stick (See Photos). One of the trio bit him and pulled out handfuls of his hair. When one of the monkeys refused to ride on a child's bicycle in a street performance in Sizhou, in eastern China, their owner beat it with a stick.

ELP has recently received some excellent news. The French eco-activist, Yildune Levy, who was on remand accused of sabotaging railway lines to protest against the nuclear power industry, has been released from prison pending her trial. However as far as we are aware, her co-defendant Julien Coupat remains in prison.

Two Local Utah Animal Rights Activists; William "BJ" Viehl and Alex Jason Hall,
were arrested yesterday (Thursday March 5th) for a raid of a South Jordan, UT
mink farm in August, and the attempted raid of a second mink farm in October.
Both are being held in Salt Lake County Metro Jail on charges of Animal

Two animal rights activists have been arrested under the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act in connection to the release of mink from Utah fur farms. The crimes are attributed to the Animal Liberation Front, which the FBI labels the “number one domestic terrorism threat.”

March 6, 2009 - Bayer managers have known the risks of a pesticide class called neonicotinoids for the environment since the beginning of the 90ies. The company downplayed the risks, submitted deficient studies to authorities and accepted the loss of honey bees in many parts of the world. After huge bee deaths in Germany last year the Coalition against Bayer Dangers brought a charge against Bayer for knowingly endangering the environment.

After almost six hours the Plane Stupid Scotland's action at Aberdeen airport ended with the protesters voluntarily unlocking themselves from their blockade. The eleven people, including local residents that this morning breached the airport fence have now been arrested. The protesters were told by police to dismantle their peaceful protest because the taxiway they were secured to was needed by an emergency helicopter. A baby apparently required urgent treatment, and any other approach would cause delays. Obviously the safety of the public was of paramount concern to the activists and so they duly removed themselves....

Now these communities are joining forces to oppose the criminal uranium mining corporations, such as 90% French-state owned crooks AREVA.

We welcome the Nepalese Parliament's decision to order a ban on monkey
exports, however there are still some fundamental points which we utterly
oppose.....

Tescos have really outdone themselves this time. At the London 'City Food Lecture', Chief Executive Terry Leary has announced that Tescos will be willing to 'back' GM foods, due to changing consumer attitudes and some sort of misguided belief that people starving in Africa are only doing so due to the UK's and Europe's lack of acceptance of GM foods.
