There are domonstratable connections between proponents of nuclear and some of these anti-wind 'astro turf' groups. With money and resources from the nuke industry and the PR industry the groups attract middle englands middle class nimbies...But thankfully their attempts to put a spanner in plans to expand the number of wind farms in the UK seems to have failed...

Chief Constable David Strang, President of the Association of Chief Police Officers in Scotland, and Tayside Police Chief Constable John Vine, the officer in charge of policing the summit, have both denied that Taser guns will be deployed against G8 protestors and have attacked the press for being sensationalist, accusing The Scotsman of a "dangerous form of journalism".

According to Radio Z, quoting The Guardian and The Times a part of the Sellafield nuclear plant had to be shut down after a acident.200 t of highly deadly plutonium have leaked out of a pipeline.
The level for plutonium to be deadly is said to be in the area of milligrams.
Tis news come at a time when the British government is planing to expand the nuclear programm.
