Ahead of Greater Manchester's local elections on 1st May, local campaign group Manchester NO2ID is polling election candidates to highlight the cost of the National Identity Register at the local level. The published costings for the scheme, estimated at £10-20bn by the London School of Economics, does not include the cost to local authorities of reworking their computer systems to talk to the Government's central ID database, where over 50 categories of information will be stored on every resident along with a life-long audit track.

Beekeepers report colony collapse,but 100O organic Honey Bees keepers in N.America say theirs are doing well.Farmers need to stop using pesticides,gm etc & go as organic as possible to keep pollinate of crops going & save soil structure from chemicals. Defra needs encouraging to support Organic honey bee keepers & we all need to keep nettles & other beefriendly plants asap otherwise crops could be severley effected

Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd is appearing to be one of the most compromised publicly elected officials in the history of Australia. How such a person can offer impartial decision making in a democracy is an important question. Does he plan to represent the interests of ‘Australia’ or is he beholden to promises and obligations extending from his ever expanding folio of global business connections? As recent media reports show there is certainly a need for a parliamentary enquiry to establish whether Kevin Rudd is a fit person to hold office. May be time to check those ministerial guidelines that you rolled out last November Mr Rudd.

Investigations show that British Airways felt that Black and Asian Males were not good enough to have usefull jobs on the T5 project. They were employed more like 'go for's' and used to carry out mundain tasks. Thhere was not a single black fulltime employee involved in T5 by BA. So what are male ethnic minorty qualified staff worth to the UK? and why do so many black and asians support this kind of a regime by continueing to fly with BA?

Iris scans for mental health service users

The Wells Road Centre, used by mental health service users, introduced iris scanning to control access to the building in January this year. This was, ostensibly, to keep users of the building safe. The scheme has already been discontinued because it was found to be a waste of money.
