Active-duty US troops voice opposition to the Iraq war

More than 100 serving members of the US military have to date sent “Appeals for Redress” to members of Congress, urging “the prompt withdrawal of all American military forces and bases from Iraq.”

Under the Military Whistle-Blower Protection Act, active-duty military, National Guard and reservists are allowed to file and send a protected communication to a member of Congress on any subject without reprisal.

The action represents the first time that serving military personnel are petitioning Congress to end the Iraq war. The organizations sponsoring the effort are Iraq Veterans Against the War, Military Families Speak Out and Veterans for Peace.

In today’s situation, U.S. imperialism is threatening not only the national sovereignty of Iran, but also the relative security of its working and middle class, including women from both classes. Individuals, groups or some ill-informed organizations who stand on the slippery slope with the neo-cons and old monarchists, repeating their charges and accusations that dominate the media regarding life in Iran, creates confusion as to the political identity of the Iranian women protagonists in the U.S., not to mention among the American progressive community.

So much ruckus has been raised about the false-flag nuclear attack on US soil that would be used to kick off a nuclear confrontation with Iran that the military-industrial complex may be forced to go for their pretext plan B -- an attack on a US battleship. Although the attack would not have the psychological impact of a nuclear attack on US soil, a false-flag attack on a battleship has an advantage to the planners in that the military would be in total control of the scene of the crime and therefore the chain of evidence. this is the tactic that was used to set off the Vietnam War -- which was escalated into full-blown conflict by [1]the false flag attack on the USS Maddox in the Gulf on Tonkin. This time, it may be the USS Eisenhower in the Persian Gulf.
