Coach Oxford to London - 29 Jan - Anti-cuts, Save EMA
I am number 6 , 25-01-2011 - 18:25
There's a national protest against fees and funding / EMA cuts in London this Saturday - it was mentioned at the OEC meeting that Oxford Right To Work have organised a coach but will have to cancel it unless more people use it. People seemed very up for getting some good action done. Should be good in its own right, and it should give us food for thought re. tactics for March. It's £5 waged, £10 unwaged, leaves St. Giles at 9.30 and leaves London (Malet St. area) at 4.30.

Democracy Dead in Oxford City...

Lack of accountability and transparency is becoming a trademark for them, as they ignore the largest ever petition in the city's history, councillors refuse to talk to their voters, and now this...

Saving Temple Cowley Pools – the campaign continues into 2011
Save Temple Cowley Pools Action Group , 12-01-2011 - 20:36
The campaign to keep publicly funded leisure inside the ring road in East Oxford is starting its second year; we need support from anyone who cares about the health and wellbeing of the citizens of Oxford and how the City Council is ignoring the will of its citizens for its own ends. Oxford Review of the Year
Player of Games , 31-12-2010 - 18:36
It's been a busy year for activists and grassroots campaigners in Oxford. Peace campaigners have kept up the pressure on the war-mongers, including those at AWE Aldermaston and BAe systems. Campsfield Detention Centre has remained a target for people opposed to the inhumane treatment of migrants. And, of course, the anti-cuts movement has grown from strength to strength closing down shops, occupying buildings, and bringing angry people out on the streets.
