Syria: Who are the real war criminals?

25-01-2014 11:51 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Other Press | London | World

The Western media, Amnesty International and various other self proclaimed humanitarian organizations are running a war propaganda campaign against Syria following the release of thousands of photographs.

This slur of disinformation focusing on alleged atrocities committed by the Syrian government has coincided in a timely fashion with the Geneva 2 Peace Talks.

"Syria's holocaust": The British media totally lose the plot

23-01-2014 13:59 | Anti-militarism | Anti-racism | Other Press | London | World

The Scotsman, 22 January 2014

At no time in history has the perversion of the truth been so extreme. Once the NATO-led genocide on the people of Syria comes to an end, The Guardian and the entire British media establishment must be tried for crimes against humanity.

Geneva II – Washington’s Plan B for regime change in Syria

21-01-2014 18:35 | Anti-militarism | Anti-racism | Other Press | World

The fatal problem with the Geneva II negotiations on Syria, due to open next week in Switzerland, is that the process is furtively being treated by the US and its allies as a lever for regime change. It is their Plan B for regime change, where Plan A is the failed covert military tactic. That does not bode well for a successful, that is sustainable, settlement to a crisis that is nearly three years old with well over 100,000 deaths and nine million people – more than a third of the total population – displaced from their homes. It amounts to an illegal interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state, and as such is doomed to fail.

Sharonian evil lives

14-01-2014 09:35 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Other Press | World

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon believed the only good Arabs were dead ones. He spent his entire military and political career slaughtering them. He represents the worst of Zionist extremism. He devoted his military and political career to working for a Greater Israel. He believed mass slaughter and destruction further it.

The Syrian sarin question – Human Rights Watch refuses to answer

13-01-2014 16:14 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Other Press | World

Recent new elements concerning the attack with the nerve agent sarin on the 21st of August in Syria point to the fact that, in contrast to earlier claims put forward by among others Human Rights Watch and the New York Times, there is not one shred of proof the Syrian army was involved.

On the 28th of December 2013 the New York Times to a certain degree withdrew its previous claims although it blamed the US government and not itself for the lies produced then back in September 2013. However Human Rights Watch still didn’t react to these developments and so continues to stick to its old now discredited lies.

Behind NATO's propaganda outlet for progressives - the Guardian's board members

11-01-2014 12:52 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Other Press | London | World

The Guardian, 10 June 2013
It is completely disingenuous for anyone to suggest that the Guardian reports on Edward Snowden's revelations are much more than a carefully managed propaganda exercise deployed in the internal power struggle of the US-Anglo elite about how best to manage their declining global power and influence.

Likewise, it is absurd to suggest that the Guardian editors are implementing a "publish and be damned" policy, as Guardian writer Glenn Greenwald has suggested, when it is inconceivable that their editorial policy on publishing Edward Snowden's material will not have been closely coordinated on the basis of the Board's relations with colleagues in the British government, in British intelligence and in the US-Anglo corporate sector.

End scandal of legal hare coursing in Ireland

10-01-2014 23:20 | Animal Liberation | Ecology | Other Press | Liverpool | World

Hare coursing cruelty continues…

The Republic of Ireland has become one of the last remaining countries in the world to allow hare coursing. The cruel blood sport has already been banned in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and remains illegal in most civilised nations.

War: "Academic" propaganda ... is a crime

10-01-2014 10:33 | Anti-militarism | Education | Other Press | Oxford | World

A war criminal: Professor Sir Hew Strachan
If media or academia really published a balanced "opinion" over war, they would always have to include, a genuine consideration of...law.

A particularly wretched self-serving Oxford "academic" called Professor Sir Hew Strachan, has been wheeled out by the British Establishment to front the link between World War One, and current British military..."thinking", which is...propaganda.

In the year 2014, the deliberate and cynical use, by academics, of ...propaganda, that leads to murder, must be legally challenged.

Media disinformation and the framing of the Syrian war

30-12-2013 10:04 | Analysis | Anti-militarism | Other Press | World

The Independent, 26 August 2013
Months after the events took place, Pulitzer prize winning journalists and others are finally reporting about the lies and manipulations of the US government regarding the recent chemical weapons attack in Syria. Far from shining a light on the true situation in the country, however, these reports continue to avoid the underlying causes and explanations for what is happening in Syria, and the forces that are behind it.

Perhaps the most remarkable thing about the Syrian war coverage of the mainstream media is not its underlying bias—that was always to be expected—but how remarkably ineffective that coverage has been in convincing the public of the need for military intervention in the country. After nearly three years of relentless propaganda attempting to convince the public of the virtue of the terrorist insurgency and the incomparable evil of Assad, the seemingly inevitable march toward war in the wake of the Ghouta chemical weapons attack faltered after public opinion overwhelmingly came down on the side of non-interventionist policies.

Perhaps reading public sentiment, many mainstream outlets even took to pointing out the media bias on the war and trying to retroactively position themselves against military intervention. This has to be credited to a remarkable, global, grassroots phenomenon of independent citizen media breaking through the layers of propaganda to provide true, cogent analysis of the situation on the ground in Syria.

UG#673 - The Language of The Vast Machine (The Ubiquitous Matrix Of Lies)

27-12-2013 03:57 | Analysis | Other Press | Social Struggles | Sheffield | World

Audio
Similar in spirit to UG#670, we look at what Charles Eisenstein termed "The Ubiquitous Matrix Of Lies". We examine a range of lies spun by the vast machine as part of its efforts to perpetuate hopelessness, including a particularly obvious fraud from this August, a Nurse Nayirah style effort to drum up support for an attack on Syria. We focus loosely on war propaganda in Syria, but use a wide range of examples to illustrate the interwoven, interlocking nature of the matrix of lies while reflect on its implications for those determined to seek truth.

Prince Charles: "The banality of evil"

War Criminals Inc.
"Prince" Charles is one person who really does know what is going on. He epitomizes the "banality of evil". Prince Charles should stand trial, along with the rest of the war criminals, in the criminal U.K State. A jury of the people will have no difficulty understanding that Prince Charles is not ignorant of law, and that business interests have nothing to do with religion.

Tucker-v-The Guardian PRISM hoax

23-12-2013 20:38 | Anti-militarism | Other Press | Social Struggles | London | World

Like many stories run by the Guardian, the PRISM story, is simply not true. The PRISM Hoax is however, yet another vehicle, being used by the mainstream media and government, to dangerously continue escalating, that it is an ever increasing number of human lives, that are really at stake, over violent state censorship. The whole world would be a much safer and more peaceful place, without violent state censorship, in the U.K, that is endorsed by the mainstream media, including the Guardian.

Neocolonial dementia, psy-warfare and media complicity

02-11-2013 12:23 | Anti-militarism | Anti-racism | Other Press | London | World

The Libyan and Syrian wars have demonstrated categorically the very clear commitment of the progressive Western intellectual managerial class to the fundamental neocolonial premises of their NATO governments. In that context, Patrick Cockburn's article constitutes a masterpiece of evasion. Its publication in numerous progressive alternative media outlets indicates the insidious osmosis between those media and the corporate mainstream, one which has almost entirely destroyed politically effective Western anti-imperialist consciousness.
